It does not matter if I am in a mission/outpost/quest, the screen freezes then the PC shuts down and starts up again, only happens when I play GW , running it on lowest graphics setting, any advice welcome
XP SP2
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+
1GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache
PC shutdown when in GW

Try disabling XP's retarded auto-restart on crash feature to see if it's bluescreening or just hard rebooting for some other reason.
You can do this via Control Panel->System->Advanced->Startup and Recovery Settings->(uncheck Automatically restart). Once you've done that see if you can recreate the crash. If you see a blue screen and some text about a driver named nvsomething failing, well, join the club. If not, you may have faulty hardware.

Overheating maybe? Open the NVIDIA control panel and set it to monitor, log and save GPU temperatures...

Disabled the auto restart and I did get the nv4_disp.dll message is there no cure for this then ?
Josh
Nv4_disp.dll? Sigh, that's a graphics driver problem. What NVIDIA drivers are you using?

If you're using the latest drivers, try uninstalling them completely and installing something older from Nvidia's driver archive. I don't think they've added much for your old card since then so there shouldn't be any compatibility issues, and some people have reported fewer problems with older drivers.
Nvidia must be pretty busy trying to support Vista and DX10 to let buggy crap like ForceWare version 163 get released, used to be ATI that had the worst drivers (actually, they still do, as far as OpenGL is concerned).

These would be good for your graphic's cards generation.

I get the same thing. My screen totally freezes, and about a minute or two later I get the bluescreen which says something to the effect of: video driver is stuck in an infinite loop and needs to shut down...problem caused by nv4_disp etc. etc....still looking for a cure. Im running an invidia gforce 7300 LE I believe. Any suggestions??
