Question about the Underworld

Ok, I am relatively new to this game, don't know it intimately, but have been playing long enough to know whats going on.

Anyway, I was talking to a friend yesterday and he said that the only professions that could successfully run the underworld were (i don't claim this as completely accurate) "necros, rangers, and monks"... saying that any other class better just not bother.

Well being the person i am, not accepting that a game would be so biased to only a few classes (my friend assured me there where areas "built" for my dervish as well, but thats not good enough for me) I want to hear it from others.

Basically what I want to know is why is this area like it is in the first place (I actually went in there with some h/h just to see what it was like, i got curb stomped) Why on earth would there be places with such heavy class restrictions like this? I guess I'm looking for some sort of justification. If there isn't then i am sorry for waisting your time. But if there is then please tell me, if you would be so kind

Not true, you can solo with basically any profession. Your friend is pretty naive. Check out the farming section, you can find a build for basically anything.

What your friend described is about what is most popular to take. The fun thing about UW is that it's very versatile, you can go down with a group of any size you please and you have a lot of options of what you'd like to do down there.

Any class can play there as well as others... Your friend is wrong.

your friend is very limited, every class can work wonders in the uw, same for many char classes being able to solo parts of it.

ah, well thank you for refuting that. I was in great doubt that something like that could happen, but you never can be too sure :P. And as for farming... I might just try that

Unfortunately that is actually partly true, though not accurate. The game is not so biased, but the players are. You will soon learn to understand the horror that is... cookie-cutting. Fear it, experience it, hate it...
