Ok, I recently captured Quick Shot since I was in the area in Nightfall. After trying it out, I do not see what the big deal is about it. Yeah the arrow moves twice as fast but it seems like a waste of an Elite. I figured it caused you to have a faster fire rate like Punishing Shot but I saw little difference than when just auto-attacking. So if someone could enlighten me on why everyone says it is such a good skill, I would be most appreciative.

Quick Shot, am I missing something?

You chain the skill with your normal bow attacks, and the result is that you get off 2 arrows every 2 seconds. This can effectively give you a "machine gun" effect, which allows you to potentially double the damage you do with your bow.

Quick Shot also works very well with a R/E build using Conjure to boost damage from spells and arrow skills.

The point isn't really that it moves fast, it's that it has a 1 second cast time, making it at least twice as fast as any other bow attack.

What? Do you fire off Quick Shot faster than you fire off a normal attack?
I was under the impression that it merely increased the arrow's speed after the shot was fired (like Read the Wind).
Maybe I'm reading the skill description wrong.
I guess my question is this: Is there any difference at all between spamming Quick Shot on every arrow and simply auto-attacking under Read the Wind?

most bow attacks do not have a casting time, which means they fire at the bow's normal refire rate, which is 2 - 2.7 seconds (depending on bow)
physical attack skills with a casting time are actually incorrectly advertised. the 1 sec cast time on quick shot is actually .5 seconds. the bow interrupts fire in .25 secs, instead of .5 seconds.
so the answer to that question is, fire an arrow normally and then follow up with quickshot. you'll fire 2 arrows with only .5 seconds delay between, instead of the standard 2 to 2.7 seconds.

Ahh! That answers my question perfectly, thanks for the clarification.
I didn't realize that Quick Shot is fired faster than a normal attack, I assumed it used to normal attack speed of your bow like all other attack skills sans the interrupts and Needling Shot.
Guess I never noticed that little "1" in the casting time field.
They should change it to "1/2", that would have grabbed my attention.
