Just a build I made that uses the epic mesmer skill, Illusionnary Weaponry. Please note that some skills in this build have been changed, and that some of my stats aren't correct. (I use an outdated version of GWFreaks)
Solo IW Mesmer
Mesmer/Assassin
Illusion Magic: 14 (10+4)
Dagger Mastery: 8
Shadow Arts: 10
Deadly Arts: 8
Of enchanting mods are nice, but the stats in the build are based on without any mods.
- Illusion of Weakness (Illusion Magic)
You lose 227 Health. Illusion of Weakness ends if damage drops your Health below 25% of your maximum. When Illusion of Weakness ends, you gain 227 Health.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:30
- Illusionary Weaponry [Elite] (Illusion Magic)
For 30 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 38 damage.
Energy:15 Cast:1 Recharge:35
- Death's Charge (Shadow Arts)
Shadow Step to target foe. If that foe has more Health than you, you are healed for 100.
Energy:5 Cast:0.25 Recharge:45
- Deadly Paradox (Deadly Arts)
All of your attack Skills are disabled for 10 seconds. For 10 seconds, your Assassin Skills activate and recharge 50% faster.
Energy:5 Cast:0 Recharge:10
- Shadow Refuge (Shadow Arts)
For 4 seconds, you gain 8 Health regeneration. When Shadow Refuge ends, you gain 60 Health if you are attacking.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:8
- Feigned Neutrality (Shadow Arts)
For 8 seconds, you have +7 Health regeneration and +80 armor. This Enchantment ends if you successfully hit with an attack or use a Skill.
Energy:5 Cast:0.25 Recharge:25
- Heart of Shadow (Shadow Arts)
Shadow Step to a random nearby location. For 60 seconds, the next time you take damage you are healed for 110 Health.
Energy:5 Cast:0.25 Recharge:15
- Dark Escape (Shadow Arts)
For 12 seconds, you move 25% faster and take half damage. Dark Escape ends if you successfully hit with an attack.
Energy:5 Cast:0 Recharge:30
You can replace Dark Escape with Dash.

USING IoW is your safeguard. Use it when you get in the map. IW is your damage. Death's Charge is used to get to your opponent. Deadly Paradox : Since you have no attack skills, all your skills recharge 50% faster, so you can keep up shadow refuge at all times, and feigned neurality up alot. Shadow Refuge : Regen that, with Deadly Paradox, can be kept up at all times. Feigned Neurality : Regen and extra armor. Don't be afraid to use this while attacking, as IW never hits with an attack. Heart of Shadow : Nice Healing. Dark Escape/Dash : For running. This will cancel Deadly Pa radox out, so take that into consideration when you're in battle. Credit: Myself, and someone on the assasin builds directory who had an idea similar to this. Is this build good for general PvE & farming? Give me your opinions and thoughts. If anyone had the corrections concerning the stats it would be appreciated. Stormlord Alex
IW is really pathetic for general PvE, the damage is terrible and you end up wasting the rest of the skillbar just to survive; so you don't really do anything worthwhile.
As for that specific build for farming... I'd stick to a 55. It's a lot tougher; tbh that build doesn't look all too strong. Some regen and bursts of 80 armour isn't gonna save you from a whole mob. Mister_Abc

It actually looks pretty nice. Feigned Neturality can be kept up about half the time, and the other half the time you have perma 8 regen. Plus, Heart of Shadow will give you a 110 point heal every 7.5 seconds, and a scythe can effectively deal a lot of damage to three people or a dagger for the double strikes. It can solo weaker spellcasters and melee pretty well from theory. Dean Harper
like storm said, jsut stick to a 55 of some kind...
Arkantos
IW in general is pretty bad in PvE, and for farming 55 would be the way to go.
SpriteSODA
I agree with everyone that IW is problematic in survivability, but about the damage you are wrong. a Me/R with a pet, heket's Rampage and Call of Haste deals 70 DPS which is NOT bad.
I wish they one day make IW work with a bow ^ ^ Phantom of the Opera
IW with bows= Dual Shot, Triple Shot etc... omg it would be... strong indeed.
MercenaryKnight
New farm builds for duos. Illusionary weaponry, arcane mimicry a ranger/rt with splinter weapon and barrage.
Imagine just even using a hero to precast splinter weapon on you and steal barrage. If it worked with bows of course =P SpriteSODA
Favorable Winds + Volley + IW ^ ^
