How to beat doppelganger with level 7 r/mo ?
I have starter armour and a level 8 pet. My bow is sturdy recurve bow (max dmg and req 9).
I tried taking spirits along, but doppelganger kills me after he sets them up and kills my pet.
How to beat him?

advice: take 5 spirits along with fertile season, your pet, bane signet and power shot
all attribs to beast mastery
walk further away and after he sets up spirits he tries to kill the pet. spam signet and powershot.
fertile season gives pet more juice so he can't beat it and dies pretty easily

Another method that works for all classes is...
Make yourself a secondary Mesmer, if you aren't a Mesmer primary, and bring empathy and leave the rest of your skill bar blank. Put all of your attributes into domination magic. Empathy should be available to use once you are granted Mesmer as your secondary profession.
Then cast empathy on the doppelganger. Do not attack him because he will cast it on you.
Then, use the "Q" and "E" keys to strafe back and forth to dodge his bow attacks. Reapply Empathy as needed.
If done correctly, the doppelganger should die easily without you being touched and you win!
NOTE: This is also affective in hard mode.

I beat mine at level 20 and did the spirit thing but instead of going out of bow range I went into melee range(the doppelganger will switch to an axe even if you have bow attacks equipped) and spammed Burning Arrow until it died.

I beat him on my level 8 monk by taking necro secondary. I only had 1 skill on my bar and that was Insidious Parasite.

ok, first, rid the starter armor. Then:
1.empty ALL your skillz excpt 4 some pet attks, and keep Point Blank Shot. It's low enrgy cost and it does high dmg, plus he melees so hes next 2u. im pretty sure he cant use it cuz he uses sword, and he has NO pet. u should be fine, just try to get max armour- ur an R/Mo, learn sum running routes and make some extra $$

ok first, empty all ur skillz scept for some pet attks and point blank shot. use ur pet attks and attk him and point blank shot over and over. Also have troll ungent handy, not healing breeze cuz then he'll have it and he'll be harder 2 beat... and atleast get better armour lol

Fill your bar with useless 5s cast spirits and the Doppel will try to cast them all. That gives you 8x5 seconds to poke away at it with your bow.

First of all, he already beat the dopple. And he also said he tried the spirits but it wasn't working for him. He's also lvl 7, they can't run for crap. And the dopple's weapon is universal, he can use any weapon in the game even though it has (I believe) an axe skin.
