New GW chapter questions!

I've been thinking about getting Factions. I've already got Prophecies. When I add the new key to existing account (isnt that what im suppose to do to link the new chapter to my account?) does that mean I can start and play Factions with my existing Prophecies character and get all the skills for him or do I have to start at lvl 1 again with a new character?

If you add the key to your current account you can take your lvl 20 character to Factions by simply talking to Firstwatch Sergio in Lions Arch. He will give you a quest which is extremely easy and short, upon completion you will find yourself in mainland Cantha(Factions).

You can start a new character if you wish, Factions is known for it's fast leveling so it wouldn't take you long to get to level 20. By starting a new character you will find yourself on Shing jea island(your prophicies character starts later on in the game).

No problem, you will be able to travel from Tyria (Prophecies) to Cantha (Factions). But in order to do that, you'll have to do a quest:

In your case, the quest is "Mhenlo's Request" obtained from Firstwatch Sergio in Lion's Arch :
