Icy dragon sword upgrading

Since icy is the prefix/hilt of the sword, can u override it with a new hilt?

Doesnt it just ask you if your sure you want to override the current mod. And what would happen.

Im scared to try it with an icy dragon sword in fear of either losing the 15%>50 or losing the icy skin. I doubt it would turn into a fiery sword but im still nervous to try. Anyone modded their IDS?

It wont change. The FDS doesn't as far as i know, so this shouldnt.

It doesn't. The game prevents you from modding the hilts on Fiery Dragon Swords and Icy Dragon Swords, and you can't mod green weapons at all.
