Is nightfall required to play Eye of the north?

No as long as you own at least one of the campaigns you can play GW:EN

Absolutely not, but i strongly suggest you play prophecies, if you don't you will have no clue about the storyline, especially the gwen part

The only game you need to access EOTN is Prophecies......... though looking at the above answers I could be wrong lol

Ghengis, no you dont need proph, any campaign will do.

You need one full campaign: Prophecies, Factions OR Nightfall. That is the only requirement to playing EotN. It doesn't matter which of the three you buy. Although Prophecies is favoured as the stories integrate.

Careful, you need to make sure you're properly BUYING a brand new Eye of the North, if not (already used) you're breaking the EULA and exposing yourself to permanent ban (though some people said here that nothing happened to them ...).

Although it is very unlikely you will get banned for buying a used copy, that doesnt mean it is without problems.

Any such trades can easily be done then the original owner reseting the password or sending the account details to get it locked or whatever. Obviousely in that case you cant go to Anet so your screwed.

You can always buy platnium edition for 80 dollars ( Aus )
