Ooze Pit HM [Merged]

I did manage to do with the team I had then, an awful and disgusting way.
Basically I place a doll and then ran the rest of my party to the boss room. Cast PI, rinse and repeat. I did kill them all pretty fast, but it was not noble, lol.
Thankyou
p.s. Longasc. How did you know? My avatar is supposed to be a Prince rurik warrior skill, but anyway. I was playing a geomancer too, they're awesome. Thanks again

Yeah, one of the few places where a geotank is not a wasted slot IMO. Tank and nuke is the way to go.
Mazey - I think the bit labelled "profession" under your avatar might have been the giveaway for Longasc

I did Ooze Pit HM with my ele last night. Everything except the final 3 Prismatic Oozes was pretty trivial, I played an AV/SV geotank and Acolyte Jin kept Famine and Symbiosis up on the background (and Mending and Watchful Spirit on me) - the oozes just melted away.
Only at the final fight I noticed that I hadn't brought the proper skills to kill the Prismatic Oozes so the rest of the herohench team had to earn their upkeep as well.

Reviving this thread to add a tip.
After 2 or 3 horrible failures in this dungeon (HM, of course) I decided to try a skill, not mentioned at all in this thread.
That single skill turned a nightmare into a very smooth dungeon experience. Not saying it was super-easy, but I think 1 hour with h/h and no consumables is a decent time to complete this dungeon. At the end I was the one with highest DP, @20%. Heroes and henchmen was between 0 and 10%. Before the 3 prismatic oozes we was all at 10% morale boost.
The skill I'm talking about is [edge of extinction]. Combined with AoE attacks and the monster skill [Ooze Division], it provides very effective chain-reactions. Some of the biggest groups literally exploded in a few seconds.
I played as a ranger with [barrage], [edge of extinction] and a pet.
First hero was Margrid with [barrage], pet and some interrupts.
Second hero was Olias as a standard N/Rt healer.
Third was Zhed with [searing flames], [splinter weapon] for the barragers and [ancestors' rage].
Henchmen was Lo Sha, Lina, Mhenlo and Herta.

You can also pay to have someone run the dungeon for you, only takes about 30-40 minutes. I used to do them in 30 minutes flat for 5k a person.
I also completed this for HM Dungeon book with my sin as duo, believe it or not. I used 600hp A/Mo with the basic 600hp skills and equipment, and used Radiation and Ether Nightmare to kill the last three bosses, which they went down pretty quickly with degen. Alot of the professions that have +4 regen can set up as 600hp no problem. Warriors, Paras, and Rangers just don't have enough regen, maybe ranger, but they wouldn't be as affective.

I am trying to finish my last few dungeons on HM and I hadn't done this one in NM for a loooong time, so I went in fairly unprepared. I read this thread, went as a fire ele nuker, not as a geomancer tank, and even without a decent tanking build, I ended up serving as the party "tank" - by flagging the whole party back, with me out front, I was able to take nearly all of the damage that any of the mobs could dish. I died once or twice, but no DP that killing a few more mobs couldn't erase. It was pretty methodical throughout, no real threats.
But the final Prismatic Oozes were a different story. That tactic didn't quite work there. Got toasted repeatedly. Sad to say, I popped a cons set and was able to finish them off without much trouble. Sure, it was the easy way out, but with only the Prismatics left, I didn't want to repeat the whole thing with a different build.
Anyway, as Mahanaxar suggested, EoE worked exceptionally well throughout. I did wipe once pretty early on, but once I decided to be the party's "squishy-tank," there really were no issues until the bosses.
Edit: Whether it's normal or not, I don't know, but the first two Prismatics used Gelatinous Absorption maybe once, but the final Prismatic used it repeatedly, almost upon its recharge. It made the third and final one much harder to kill than the first two. Also, I can't give advice on good builds to kill the Prismatics, but I can say that I was wishing I had brough something like Protective Spirit on my heroes to cast on myself, so that even as a squishy, I could have been somewhat of a tank, like I had been throughout the rest of the dungeon. A better build for myself would have helped, too, of course. But without PS, I didn't stand a chance tanking for the party against them without a decent tanking build, or even being a puller (before the cons).

Prismatics can be random about the Absorption. Sometimes they'll use constantly, other times barely at all.
With the prismatics you don't want to use alot of AoE! As you kill one you get more spawns. While fun to take out all 3 at once, you quickly become overwhelmed as you suddenly have 20 some odd oozes running around.

A suitable tank and [skill]insidious parasite[/skill] kills the prismatics very easily and quickly. Their absorbtion skill does nothing against it and so long as there's nothing else damaging them they'll just keep hitting the tank. Make sure the nec with IP backs off before one dies, wait for the spawn of oozes, let the tank re-settle aggro then kill the next one.
As for the rest of the mission...it's already been said but tank'n'spank tactics work very well. Without strong aggro control it can get very nasty in there in HM.

Having a pure tank is just un-needed here though.
Just make sure your monk has [[protective spirit] and your designated aggro holder has an anti KD and [[ebon vanguard assassin support]. That's all you need!
If there are volatiles, just have your front line use the sin support and they'll mostly explode on him leaving your front line guy with only a few heavy hitters, which will have the steam taken out of them by PS.
Prismatics are a little more troublesome with Absorbtion, but all you need is patience and you can kill them fairly easily.

I can solo most of the dungeon in HM on my 600hp ele.... .Only thing is i can not get past the storm clouds any suggestions?
Rothan Celt
Alright guys i can solo this dungeon in HM in under a hour its very easy but if you want to be successful in h/h i suggest bringing EoE and you (the player) go as a tank EoE + AoE from your heros/hench will bring down any mob no proplemo. For heals you need and i stress this a Necro/rt healer the deaths in this dungeon are so great that no minions are required to make N/Rt build work
If your to lazy to do it urself PM ME
Rothan Celt In game and i will run you for 5k

After numerous failed attempts, including using EoE and Assassin support, I was able to H/H HM and I owe it all to one skill - Scourge Sacrifice. I had Dunkoro set up as Smit/Prot, but before hitting a new group, I would have him ready to case Scourge Sacrifice targeting an Earthbound Ooze, and then I would run in.
The ooze rarely ever used the Ooze division, and the groups were very manageable. Aside from a bad pull or two, the dungeon was rough in a couple parts, but only had a total of 4-5 wipes, and most of those were at the prismatics.
Hopefully this can help somebody out there as well.

Did it HM with a 600/Smite. Classic setup on both skillbars. Went fine until we got to the final bosses, and ended up taking them for infinity and beyond before I realized that they heal based off of damage [der der der]. Ripped off my Smites, and focused on one at a time, reapplying only Retribution when it had worn off, then taking it back off when it went back up. Rinse, repeat. Couldn't seperate them, either, so ended up tanking all 3 and just focusing my efforts on 1 at a time. I assume that bringing Diversion instead of Mantra would be best though.
`Nalia
Edit: Okay, did a few more runs. Brought Diversion, but it's really hard to catch Absorption with it. Tried a 3 man with an SS, but SS heals the mobs. Next run tried Pain Inverter. Yet another bad idea, because it heals them at lightning speed. Perhaps touch skills ie. lifesteal? I'll update my post when I do it.

Hello guys!
When i did this Dungeon Hero and Hench this is what i used........
Henchmen
2 monk henchmen
2 ranger henchmen
Necro/Rt healer with Icy vain as the elite skill there is no need for condition removal in this dungeon seeing as the only conditions you only encounter once or twice. Because the Ooze suicide a lot the Necro's Soul reaping helps a ton and overall they are better suited for this dungeon.
OAhjYghsoO1MMW0cyNMHnV1rNA <build
Make ur hero cast Warmongers weapon onto the henchmen ranger
Necro- SS
This build overall sorts out the Ooze perfectly
OANEUop3+2kHEasB7wYoLUVDIA
You might ask why bring well of suffering...... well the bosses at the end need a lot of degen to die and its very likely that in the boss room and throughout the dungeon one of ur party members will die....if not kill some rats and use there bodies.
There are also no enchantments so it is not needed to bring enchantment removal.
Mesmer (may wish to include epidemic)
OQNEAYwSNJ9CQCYAu1M6gCYCgGB
this one is simple...... Arcane slows casting of spells allowing your party to interput the spells using warmongers weapon and barrage works wonderfully the degen is for use at the end bosses and intepitude is to blind the melee + the Ancient Oozes which do a ton of melee dmg.
Finally the player him or herself....
I used Searing flames for maximum degen and AoE this overall worked very well however be careful of simmering Oozes they drain energy very fast.
One thing you must have on your bar regardless of profession is Edge of Extinction(Ranger skill under Beast mastery).
Oozes suicide and Edge of extinction does a ton of dmg this way when i run ppl i ask them to use it it truly does speed up the kills.
Also Ebon Vanguard Sin support you can target Volitle ooze and make ur Ebon vanguard sin trigger there suicide ability creating a smaller mob.
If you are a ranger Ditch the interrupt henchmen Use BHA>epidemic>volley Also fit into the team Mark of rodgort and use a firey bowstring the burning + inters would be uber.
Another thing to consider..... Assassins promise can be used on volitle oozes... because these ooze suicide/die fast you can throw around some nasty spells/skills such as MS or have a ton of Vanguard sins jumping around.
Another useful skill is epidemic not only to sync well with blinding but also daze. The Melee oozes Self daze using headbutt using epidemic will spread the daze.
Using the builds above I completed the dungeon in HM in about half a hour it really is easy once you know how.
Map Fastest route
Follow dark blue for fastest route when you come to point 1 (the pressure plate) you will need to double back down the tunnel. This method you will skip 1 very hard to kill mob. Walk down the tunnel killing the mob stand on the pressure plate double back walk into the room filled with coffins in a pit of water and 1 large ooze mob kill all walk directly ahead towards point 2 be careful there is a large pop up of stormclouds they can be avoided but Heros/Henchmen often run into the agro activating the popup. From this point 2 you are able to drag the boss Gloop + 2 Onimus oozes. Kill them all get the key and follow the light blue line. 2 Stormclouds will pop up kill them avoid all ooze mobs apart from the 3 ooze mob at the boss lock Bolders will trigger killing the mob that is avoidable.
I hope the map description was clear enough
Good luck in the ooze pit!
Note 2: start from doomlore shrine travel to Wardowns into ooze pit.
