Guild Wars releasedate in china?
Kaon
While there's many people crying gw is dead, we need not forget that a huge new market will be added to guild wars. Bringing new players, and also new attention from Anet to the current game.
The question is: when? I've been searching but couldnt find any release date :/

I thought it was already out in China for a long time...

I happen to be working in mainland China. I haven't seen the game around yet, although its been talked about for a long time now...
Might not be having the same impact as WOW around here...

yeah i think the9 released it and then shut half of it down or something...total BS...also the Chinese player base can't interact with anyone else outside of china.

Just read the threads. Thanks BlueSS. Guess I wasn't around when the issue was brought up by the Chinese players. Sad thing though.
I actually bought GW online and gave my European address, although playing in China. I connect either to Europe or America and the game isn't as laggy as it was back in 2006 when I started playing it.
Something unfortunate happened to the game in China and that's really too bad...

I have a hard time making up what exactly happened. Either: Gw was already released in China on a seperate server, but that got shutdown and had absolutely horrible support. Or they shut down the beta servers and it killed gw.
All i understand is that either the9th or Ncsoft or Anet RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up badly.

Answear for Kaon: GW already released in China, and i has a HORRIBLE sipport, nothing to do with Anet, but NCsoft chose a terrible company such as 9C to run the servers which is a bad move.

Nightfall was released there recently, with GWEN coming out soon, or so my cousin who lives in China say.
He told me all his friends actually stopped WOWing for a month to play that game and found it horrible in that there is not enough levels, characters can't take on hundreds of monsters later on, the farming aspect blows, ect. ect. all the different things GW has from WOW.
As for the support, he said the server lags a lot, crashes a bunch, and most people can't even get it working. The translations make no sense... which is pretty common in all translated games really.
They aren't finding it as grind-happy as WoW, even though I told him to wait for GWEN titles and feel even worse because those titles aren't even worth the grind (AKA do the labor, don't get the reward). So he and his friends are now back in WOW and tries to get me to quit GW and play with them.
Plus, a lot more people are in WOW than GW. The population simply aren't enough for GW over there since most people are too obsessed with WOW to even play any other game, not just GW.
And the company that NCSoft picked sucks, according to him.

You wouldn't have got to play with them anway, they're on a completely seperate network.
