Nightfall Campaign with a NON-Nightfall Character

Before you can start the first (4th) mission non-NF players follow a quest chain. However, I cannot be given the first quest for some unknown reason to me.

That is, Battle Preperations I cannot get from Bendro because there is no mark above him.

You can't do the early area quests. BUT you can head southeast from Kamadan through Churrhir Fields and speak to Historian Laharo whose just outside Chahbeck Village to do access that mission.

Did you accept the quest reward for Sunspears in Tyria/Cantha? You have to do that first before you can continue.

Its just the same in Factions some of the early missions are not playable and at 20th level would be too easy anyway.

My Prophesies Characters have moved finished Factions and are now roaming the final areas of NF.

Its been loads of fun and my necro loves the NF armor and the new elites from both games.

All of the missions on the starter islands can be completed by foreign characters. If they couldn't, it would be impossible to achieve the Legendary Guardian title.

After you finish the game you can go back and do the starter missions, you get no experience or rewards other than getting credit for your title completion.

When I took my Tyrian characters to Elona, I was able to do the three Istani missions immediately. The gates were open, and upon entering the outpost the missions were available.

You don't need to have completed that chapter to be able to do the starter mission's. You can do the Factions / Nightfall starter mission's at any point with a character from another chapter. You can do all Prophecy mission's after the "newbie" area with other chapter characters whenever you want - the only part of Prophecies you'll not be able to do is "Pre-Searing".

All you need to do the mission's is to be able to get to the mission outpost.. then talk to the relevant npc (or click "enter mission in Tyria".. and off you go into the mission.

You can complete them as soon as you get to the mission outposts. For Nightfall missions with foreign characters, you MUST accept the quest reward for travelling to Elona from Tyria/Cantha before you are allowed to do ANY mission. By accepting the quest reward, you can travel to any mission outpost and complete said mission, as well as unlocking the quest that allows travel to and completion of the Consulate Docks mission.

Foreign toons don't do "Battle Preparations", they do "A Land Of Heroes", instead.

There should have been an NPC in or around Kamadan to put you on the right track. Assuming you've clicked everyone in Sun Docks, try going outside Kamadan and see if Kormir is waiting there.

Sorry about the bad info, I was going off the premise that I couldn't do them when I was there and never came back until I finished.

Read the prerequisites for Battle Preparations carefully.

A Land of Heroes comes a couple quests later.

My mistake, I thought "Battle Preparations" was the one were you go round talking to spirits and stuff.

Yeah, it is just, I have the Sun Docks mission open and when I go there there is no ENTER MISSION or anyone who can start the mission for me.

So I am just still confused as to what I need to do to start sorting this out!

Sun Docks isn't a mission, there should be the NPC to collect the reward for Sunspears in *whatever continent you got it from* and give you the next quest so you can continue.

Which also makes me mention: there is no enter mission button in Elona anyway. In Elonian missions, there is an NPC you talk to to start the mission. You'll want to remember this so there isn't a thread after you figured it out saying "I CANT ENTER MISSIONS IN NF!"
