I don't think they redecorate Kaineng and Shing Jea for Christmas (Wintersday for you pc people).
It should be the dragon festival.
It should be the dragon festival.

I would guess winterfest end of December then the Canthan New year in February.
I would have to look up the other festivals.
As for thanksgiving its always puzzled me that we don't celebrate it here in the UK.
It is the time when those boring people who wore black hated dancing singing and fun of any kind left the country.
We should celebrate it too.

Well, according to GW wiki, Kaining Center / Faction's did not have anything to do with Wintersday 2006.. So most likely wont have anything to do with it this year either
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Wintersday_2006
Next holiday for Faction's will most likely be Canthan New Year 2008, held around mid-late February. It comes before the Dragon Festival, which takes place around July.

Also yes the next holiday is Wintersday, probably the most fun event, since the mini games are VERY interesting.
RPGmaniac
Thanks for correcting me, it should be the Canthan New Year.

I doubt they'll reopen the boardwalk between now and Wintersday.
Probably because of the BMP to keep us occupied.

Year of the Rat well I wouldnt mind a mini rat pet closely followed next year by
mini Ox in 2009 and Tiger in 2010
There may be an explosion of Rabbits to follow that

Anyways, there are going to be a lot of holidays and maybe even new ones this year since we had things like dragon festival redux and stuff
King Zeth

We do it over here because we need something to kick off the Christmas season. Or we just want a day to pig out and watch Football. The Canadians do it as well, but they do it in October because they freeze over before we do.
So, to get back to the original reason why we do it. Back when we were a bunch of villages without the vast resources of a kingdom such as your country was back then, we would bring in the harvest and have a big giant feast just prior to hunkering down for the winter. There is some cutesy stuff about the Pilgrims and the natives getting together to share their harvest, but I think it is wrapped up in some mythology and American folklore.

Although that reason has been eradicated since it was passed.

i asked galie if there could be a 4th of july celebration but not just for America one that celebrates all chapters as a freedom from the evil..... it might work out as a nice celebration (and another excuse to use fireworks)

"The early settlers of Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts were particularly grateful to Squanto, the Native American and former British slave who taught them how to both catch eel and grow corn and also served as their native interpreter. Without Squanto's assistance, the settlers might not have survived in the New World.
The Plymouth settlers (who came to be called "Pilgrims") set apart a holiday immediately after their first harvest in 1621. They held an autumn celebration of food, feasting, and praising God. The Governor of Plymouth invited Grand Sachem Massasoit and the Wampanoag people to join them in the feast. Evidence to support that claim came from diaries of Plymouth. The settlers fed and entertained the Native Americans for three days, at which point some of the Native Americans went into the forest, killed 5 deer, and gave them to the Governor as a gift." - (source)
In Virginia, my home state... er, commonwealth, the leaders of the Pamunkey and Mattaponi tribe give game and hides to the Governor. This tradition has been carried out since 1646. (source) Also, at the Berkeley Plantation the Chickahominy tribe comes and dances as a sign of friendship. This is to celebrate what was the first real thanksgiving, which took place ion 1619. Two years before the pilgrims broke bread in Massachusetts. (source)
