Symmetrical armor
Biostem
I don't know if this is just me nitpicking things, but it seems like the game artists like non-symmetrical armor for some reasons. At least, this appears to be the case w/ warrior and ranger armor. My necromancer, dervish, and paragon all have neat, symmetric armor, but i cannot find a set for my ranger that is, also...

Try the Kurzick 15K armor...it's pretty symmetrical.

The ranger and warrior armor's asymetrical nature actually makes sense if you think about it. Rangers hold their bows in their left hand and fire them with their right. Thus their right arm has to be more loose in order to provide full range of motion.
Now check out this warrior armor.

Why is their more plating on thier right shoulder? Because a shield would be covering their left shoulder. Thus there would be less of a need to protect that side of the body.
See... the lack of symmetry does have a reason. This is actually fairly historically acurate (ie, real armor follows similar design qualities).

Yeah, yeah... I know (though the amount of skin shown kinda makes the armor moot).
Regardless, this game has some of the best looking armor I've seen, and I like that it's not a matter of armor A being the *only* armor w/ the best stats.
Anywho, I just felt like mad max w/ some of the armors (1 sleeve on your jacket FTW!!!111)

I'll take that challenge.
Gladiator armor was designed to be lightweight, to protect the vital areas of the body during short fights, and to allow full range of motion necessary for 1v1 battles against another gladiator. Notice the armor protects the thigh(for movement), the shoulder(for weapon wielding and utilizing), the neck, etc. Everything else is bare to allow the gladiator to move around faster. The skill is the armor...you can move your shield faster than you normally can with a full suit of armor. You can move your weapon faster. YOu can move YOURSELF faster. This allows you to evade, avoid, or more easily block with the shield/weapon, and strike faster and more accurately without relying purely on brute force.

enchantments.

I can explain that one using one of the Laws of Video Game Physics
The Law of Indecent Invulnerability states that the less skin you have covered by your armor, the harder it is to damage you. This explains why most female armor sets are very skimpy. It also makes most male opponents slack-jawed which slows them down considerably, making it easier for you to take them apart.
The example given shows a female wearing little more than a bikini top, making her virtually invulnerable from the wasit up. As this example is also a Dervish, to protect everything from the wasit down she would probably use an elaborate stack of enchantments.
