Forgewight with Hero/Henchies only
Citadel Runner
I am able to get Thommis, Stormweaver, and Salvetarm with Hero/Henchie builds without much trouble.
Forgewight is another story altogether. I am currently using me (W/Me Ursan Semitank), a variation of Sabs 3 necro hero build, 2 monk henchies, Zho, and Herta. With VERY careful pulling and motion tanking, I am able to finish it without any party wipes. I think Cynn may be better than Herta. Some of the battles with the summit dwarves can last a LONG time, with me praying that their energy runs out first. But the 3 necros really help with the energy problem. I like to use Well of the Profane to breakup the Summit's general prot spirit/spirit bond damage reducing build.
Does anyone have any other 1 player builds for Forgewight?

i soloed with my assasin...hehe
its easy if you spread out your heroes and bring rit spirit spammer (mine's a combi of rit spiker and spirit spammer)
for me i have a fire nuker, 2rits (one healer +prot spirits) the other is rit spiker and other spirits spammer) get menhelo and the earth henchie, the other 2slots depends..

I think Rits make good sense in that dungeon. Especially with all the damage coming in. Ill give that a try.
Also, when you say you "soloed" with your assassin, do you mean you went in with your assassin and no heroes or henchies at all and completed the dungeon? Or does "solo" mean you were the only player but had heroes with you?
I see a lot of people using the term solo now when they did use heroes.

I run a W/Me or a Ursan tank.
when i run W/Me
dragon slash
FGJ
Signet of stamina
Enragin charge
interrupt of choice
I am unstoppable/Dwarf armor
Elemental Restance
open
I also run a +10 vs fire shield. You shouldn't take more then 10-20 damage from any of the fire eles. Just run around until u see Savanna heat being cast by the eles, then run back to you heros after SH is gone and recharging, that gives u 20sec or so to kill them, which shouldn't be a problem. Use Signet of Stamina when pulling.
2 ele heros, 1 necro hero
2 henchie monks
1 herta
1 which ever henchie u want
Stone Summits? I never have anyproblem with those. Its all about taking advantage of the terrain to body block them.
edit - oh yeah when tanking, if u have Ele Resistance up against the summits, just cancel it with enraging charge.

edit - oh yeah when tanking, if u have Ele Resistance up against the summits, just cancel it with enraging charge. Yep, exactly. Although I have Mantra of Flame instead of enraging, and few other minor changes. For the eles, I do spread out my heroes, run and aggro, let them cast their big elite fire spells on me, and drag them back to the henchies where we kill them. Thas what I meant by motion tanking, but couldnt think of a better term. (Kite Tanking?)
Anyway, often with the summit, they send one guy to tank you (the tank), usually a pounder. Then your henchies start trying to kill him, but the others are too far back to take your allies ele damage. If I could bunch them up better, that would help.
Surely the rest of you have had the situation where your pouring damage onto a summit dwarf for a long time and their health is actually going UP! Thats because the defender is enchanting him.
Any other advice on technique here would be appreciated.

In that case, assuming you have major firepower, which i always pack, you can actually kill that stone summit they send up to you, if you are using the terrain right, the caster stone summits will then move up to the body of the stone summit tank u killed. At that point you should use well of the profane and bam the stone summit defender is render useless and the stone summit priest will not be able to out heal u.

If you are having problems with the Summit's Enchantments simply add:
On SaB's Curse Necro enchantment stripping skills..
Rip Enchantment, Envenom Enchantment, etc...
As mentioned Rit Spirit Spammer helps as well.
I've also modded SaB's build to include:
-OoV on the Necro/Rit in place of the Rit Elite...allows you to drop enemies a hell of a lot quicker.
-I made the curse Necro a Necro/Paragon with 4 chants...Buff's the party nicely.
*I usually play this build as a LoD prot hybrid, which really allows for me to get away with just taking Menhlo...

My bar is Signet of Stamina, Elemental Resistance, Mantra of Flame, Dolylak Sig, Endure Pain, Smooth Criminal, Pain Inverter, Ursan Blessing.
I have put in Rip Enchantment and Well of the Profane on the Death Necro in sabs build. When the necro does finally cast Well of Profane, the summits drop like flies. But, most corpses are used for minions. I could probably change the skill order so that Well is cast first, or more often. Profane does have a mean energy tax at 25 however.

*cough* BIG STICKIED THREAD *cough*
Personally I found Forgewright the easiest of the 4 pre-Duncan bosses. Ward Against Harm and Maelstrom worked like a charm.

Cant believe they would make much of a difference but certainly worth a try. Seriously, if you think the Forgewight is the easiest of all the bosses, you may possibly have the wrong build for the other bosses, because you are the only person Ive ever met who says this.
Also, Im not opposed to this thread being merged, but it is specifically about Forgewight, and not Slavers in general.

I found forgewight totally fine too, although like Celestial Beaver my main is an ele. Seriously, Ward Against Harm takes most of the sting out of the fire eles. It works particularly well here, as there aren't mixed melee / fire ele groups, so your henchies don't kite out of your ward like they do elsewhere as soon as a melee mob starts hitting them. My usual tactic here is to cast glyph of lesser energy, drop the ward, ping with a bow to get aggro, drop a maelstrom on a flowstone elemental, pain inverter on a caster outside of maelstrom range (it will usually suicide on its first aoe spell), technobabble on another mob then just pick them off one by one. At zero death penalty and without aggroing two groups you should never suffer any deaths against an elemental group. I do this without any melee apart from minions in my party mind you, as warrior you might need to tweak the strategy. Frigid armor is probably a good start as it will totally nullify searing flames.

It's true I ran some hap-hazard builds for Selvetarm which made some of that boss's level tricky, but Thomis and Rand were ok...I just found Forgewright easier. Maelstrom owned the Djinn, Stone Summit Warders, some of the Stone Summit monks and Forgewright himself. Ward Against Harm helped a lot too. It possibly helped that I was playing Ele myself so I could control who got hit by the Maelstrom > Deep Freeze though.
I think playing through with Henchies I used Frigid Armor and always tried to take first aggro of the Elemental groups. The hench can protect me just fine, but when it comes to protecting a group under heavy fire sometimes Lina fails.

Maelstrom = underrated, so is ward against harm. Only gripe with wards is that heroes can run out of them sometimes, so some flagging will be needed. But this mission just screams: wards

Thanks Beaver, and others. Looking forward to trying these skills next shot at him.

I have to agree with beaver... this was by far the easiest dungeon for me. I ran a warder with ward against harm+ archaned maelstrom. I ran sabs necros, but gave 2 of them extinguish, and myslef breath of the great dwarf..
The +63 armor vs fire and inability to be kept on fire made this a breeze.
I aslo tried this again with freind. setup was as follows:
Obsidian tank: me-breath of GD
Boon Monk(hero)
SoR Monk( hero)- extinguish
Splinter barrager(hero)
Splinter barrage(friend)- breath of GD
Oath defensive spirit spammer, shelter, recoup etc(hero)
Splinter barrage(hero)
Splinter barrge(hero)
This was much better/faster. However it required lots of micromanaging(flaggin, using skills, blocking skills, etc)
Basically i tanked guys and got a nice sized group bunched up on me. Then a couple secs of barrage and all dead. Very effective but as i said lots and lots of microing. Not good strategy for ppl who dont have experience with heros. Enchanted groups and certain summit groups were hardest.
One we got to forgewight, my freind did the task of killing forgwight's lackies. Once most were dead we came in and killed forgewight. Breath and extinguish made this a breeze. Stoen summit sux but w/e.
I would suggest to you to bring an ele with ward against harm, melee, and maelstrom. It makes it a hell of alot easier. Dont forget extinguish/breath thats an even bigger help. And like always pulling is key.
Have Fun!
Edit: Forgot to mention. I do well of profane trick too.
