getting banned from bumping
Celestial Gaze
It seems that people are allowed to bump their own thread once a day, so this being the case...why do people get banned for bumping their threads? Even if it's your frist time bumping a thread, and you get banned. so is bumping a thread really allowed? and if it is, why are people getting banned for it? thanks to anyone who views this.

Bumps
• Upon making your new thread, you must wait 24 hours or more before posting again in that thread.
• Do Not Bump and Delete. If you are caught trying to move your thread to the top by using this method, it will be CLOSED and you will receive an appropriate miniban®.
• A bump is any type of post, from "Yes, you can buy that." to "Updated information!" Any post within 24 hours of your previous post will be a violation, period.
• If you post inside of that 24 hour time span, your thread will be closed and your account actioned.
• There should be no reason as to why you need to post something in that thread again that you could not have posted in the opening topic.
• Your new post after the 24 hour time span can be anything you wish. You are free to edit it just like your original post. Once you have submitted your new post, the 24 hour policy now applies to this post.
• Do not bump the threads of your friends or guild members. This will get your account actioned, and cause the closure of your friend's thread.

Any post made in a thread before the 24 hour mark is up is classed as an early bump.
If it was up to the average user, bumps would be allowed whenever, which would result in a thread being on the first page for a matter of minutes.

Yea Ive definately noticed a huge rash of new members in sell/pc/etc bumping 20 min after first post. Honestly, doesnt anyone ever read stickys/rules? If you dont read em, you deserve to be banned in my opinion. And yes I have been banned and yes I did deserve it because I didn't bother to read one of the rules in sell.

Try telling some of the people in Giveaways about obeying the rules lol the clue is in the title.....GIVE and yet people still post on there asking for groups/help.

Its only in the sell forums A11.
Also, the bans are only 24 hour temp ones.

It's a fact of life - people just don't read notices. I work for a passenger transport system and regularly have to put up notices advising people about travel restrictions - engineering works, that sort of thing. People just don't read them.
Forums are pretty limited for this sort of thing, but it really need the rules visible without opening a sticky - either always visible at the top of the page or on a pop-up (hnnnnnnggggg) that appears whenever you navigate to Ventari's.
It shouldn't be necessary, but we're dealing with human nature. There has to be rules, and there has to be penalties for breaking them. It's just sad that so many people get upset with being banned for reasons they were unaware of.
