Sounds like a great deal of work only to set players up to be attacked by other players and have their gear stolen. I have played GW in large part because it is instanced and I don't have to deal with the jerks that feel they are special because the gang up on you and take your stuff.

Come on now, Anet isn't going to let that happen.

Expected Response: "How do you know gw2 isnt out yet noob"

Response: It's called an ounce of customer loyalty.

Wait, i'm kind of confused.

Is it saying that you can choose to either be part of a world that has pvp instilled into it... Or not?

I've not really been keeping up on the GW2 stuff.

I don't think I'll be reading any previews. They'll overhype it and we'd most likely be disappointed. Unless they actually do a very good job. Here's hoping.

LOL. Exactly. People talking about it now really need to try to grasp that the things they are excited about will change 100 times in 2 years till it barely resembles what they were so worked up over. Everything can look good on paper but often times things cannot be delivered.

They've already tstated that pvp will only happen in "The Mists" PvP zones... you won't be able to attack anyone in the PvE zones, because we're all on the same side, trying to work for a common goal

Going by what Jeff Strain said in a few interviews, you make a PvE character, lvl cap unkown so far and at any time, you can take that character to "The Mist" (read: battlegrounds) and your character will be lvl bumped to max, etc to compete... then he/she'll be stripped of those lvl's and be a mere mortal again when they go back to the "real world" and carry on the story

grrrrr So all my hopes for a real mmorpg go bye bye? Another single player mmorpg? 12x12 max is not a MASSIVE multiplayer rpg.

Don't get me wrong, I like how pvp is designed in GW but there still should be areas where you can meat everyone and fight whoever you want. Anyone who sieged a castle in Lineage2 knows what I'm talkin about.

I hope they will make it so there will be instanced dungeons and an open world for everyone to explore and fight with eachother. Thats why there's a word MASSIVE in mmorpg.

ok, persistant world where you interact with people ANYWHERE? yes thats an MMO...

or do you not consider an MMO as one unless you have the ability to gank fellow players and ruin their gaming experience?

Not to mention that partying IS going to be completely different in GW2, they've already said that its not going to be the same 4/8/12 player team maximum from GW1

A fact I often thank "the powers that be" (Anet) for!

In GW noobs can only mess things up for you if you pug - and then you can only blame yourself!

Hey warcrap, what a nice name u have!

Since GW2 should take a while in order to come out in the best way possible, what I'm looking forward for is BETA testing!

I refuse to buy Guild Wars 2 because it sounds like it will suck and I'll hate it and anybody who disagrees with me is just plain dumm and doesn't know any real games and isn't good at things and has smelly feet that smell and look stupid and ugly and can't even walk right from all the stink lines under them.

(Makes about as much sense as the predetermination to buy a game that hasn't even begun real development yet...)

if you bothered reading all the earlier interviews with the top people like Strain/O`Brion/etc you would have noticed the following

1. the main PVE area with instanced missions/quests/etc with the rest of the pure events happen here being a no gank zone.

2. for the gankers/more adventurerous/etc is the specific named portion called *THE MISTS* where you enter at any level you are with whatever armor/weapon/etc and meet people on a more competitive basis with rules on death/ganking/amount of loot allowed to be talen if you die to be determined later.

3. pure SEPARATE PVP where you enter with your low character and are temp autobumped to max everything for the fabled level playing field.

something for everybody including climbing a tree or swimming to level/rep? grind galore
