Gold Sage Blades - Do they exist...?

I've been looking for a gold Sage Blade seller for hours (in Lion's Arch, Eye of the North and Kamadan), but the only replies I got were sellers of Greater Sage Blades and a few from sellers of purple Sage Blades.

Do gold versions of this weapon even exist, or are they just insane rare?

Searching through sell forums, it seems that only Greater versions of weapons are gold.

Many people don't know this, but in Factions there used to be 3 different skins for the Ancient Scythe. Whites and blues had one skin, purple another, and gold another. So you never got a purple Ancient Scythe that had the same skin as a gold.
Possibly (and maybe only ANet knows for sure) the Sage blades, and some others such as the Highlander Blade, have extended this idea to the point of giving the different skins different names too. Although, it seems to me that I have seen white versions of the "greater" skins.

A better example is probably the Steel Daggers in Elona.

Different skin for each rarity.

Of course when I saw one drop for a Guildie I had to have one as Sage is in all my character names . And something I didn't notice before, as you're reading this thread, down at the very bottom of the screen is a list of "similar" message threads and they are pointing to forum price checks and sale threads of Greater Sage Blades (which are the gold versions of the blade).

Some axes are called scythes.

If you want the skin of a Sage Blade, and not a Greater Sage Blade, just find or buy a blue/purple one. As long as it is max damage, and req 9, its as good as a gold would be. I have several purple weapons that are better than what most people use as a gold weapon.

I'm not getting one because I need one, but because I love collecting req.8/9/10 gold sword skins I like.=P It's a nice way of spending money I don't need.;P

i did get a Gold req10 Guardian Spear (not Greater)...

I doubt it, I have one too. And a purple Greater Guardian spear.
