Is this too defensive? Can anyone suggest something better? I'm at the end area in NF, through the portal. I haven't gotten enough faction to unlock save yourselves yet... eventually. I also don't have GW:EN.
[card]Ballad of Restoration[/card][card]Song of Restoration[/card][card]Aria of Restoration[/card][card]Anthem of Flame[/card][card]Signet of Return[/card][card]Aggressive Refrain[/card][card]Blazing Spear[/card][card]There's Nothing to Fear[/card]
Here's another build I toyed around with:
[card]Ballad of Restoration[/card][card]Song of Restoration[/card][card]Stand Your Ground[/card][card]Never Surrender[/card][card]Signet of Return[/card][card]Aggressive Refrain[/card][card]Blazing Spear[/card][card]There's Nothing to Fear![/card]
How's this build?

Ok, Im just gonna say that the bottom build is a 4 attribute split: Command,Motivation,Leadership,Spear so its not as good as the top.
But the 1st build im unsure where your going with it. I Mean you have Motivation but then your setting stuff on fire without They're on Fire!
Healing isn't really defensive, but the most effective Defensive builds involve TNTF and Save yourselves, so go get Save Yourselves and maybe Focused Anger and spam it probably wont even have to go into motivation. That way you actually help your monks by making it super easy to keep the party alive. Anyways hope this sheds some light on the situation and wish ya luck.

Mmm the top one is ok, I'd probably lose AoF though and get anthem of wearyness?
The top one resembles my Morgahn build. And i usually have TNTF going as much as possible with bladeturn refrain on an assasin or whoever is being targetted the most, Some fights when we are vanquishing my monk hero just stands behind me not casting at all which is a good sign in my opinion
Oh! For the top build to, Maybe get Go for the eyes to get energy back, possibly even go warrior secondary and use "Watch yourself" just for its energy gain, always got energy with both of them, But 1 is usually good enough with Aggresive refrain and Focused anger.
And ive typed to much, lost track kinda. Goodluck with your Para

Since the top build is very defensive, I'd loose aggresive refrain and take an adrenalin based shout to help with your energy management. Actually it's more healing than defense. This kind of party healing might be good with monks no longer using LoD.
Go for the eyes is still usefull for energy management with very low command, but you might also take hexbreaker aria. Off course if you drop aggresive refrain you can also drop anthem of flame and take both or take another adrenalin attack. (I like holy spear, but that's in gwen, which you don't have. There are some others though.)
Yes, I'm too lazy to keep aggresive refrain going.

I agree with the above poster. Your build is good. I'd take out Blazing Spear for Barbed Spear; the burning doesn't stack. And Anthem of Weariness would be a lot better actually over Anthem of Flame. I my self don't have GW:EN and I try not to mention the skills that come with it just because of that
Weariness = 66% reduction in damage caused by opponent. ToF doesn't reduce damage by 66%. Unless the game mechanics work against my statement there, that's pretty nice!
Also I'd take out Aria of Restoration unless you want to cater to Casters over Melee. I do my best to stick to Shouts/Chants that benefit all unless my build is guided towards supporting one role over the other. Use Energizing Chorus if you have energy problems with that build, it's great in energy management and it helps make skills like Spear of Lightning nearly spammable if you're smart with your Shouts.
Overall not a bad build, it's something I've used before with great success. I always think of skills like Ballad of Restoration/Song of Restoration as damage reduction rather than healing.
Also I'd take out Aggressive Refrain. I know Cracked Armor does little to a Paragon, but in H/H it sucks since condition removal skills will be wasted on your self. Besides for 25% IAS with a LOT of benefits, I can honestly make do without. That build anyways is more about support than damage anyways.
