Monk strike, and other old events.

ANyone have interseting stories of player started events, or just randomness?
I forget when it was, but I remember when for a while there, monks went on strike and refused to party unless people paid them to do so.

It is just a simple question, you don't have to be a jerk.
The Monk strike happened when the Wammo players (W/Mo, cocky, rushed into battle before everyone else was ready) were telling Monks off and such in the Thunderhead Keep mission. The monks got sick and tired of it and soon just sat around in THK one day getting invites, but soon saying "No Deal. No Heal." It was a very hard time, but soon they just got over it and started healing again.
My information might not be 100% correct, but I'm pertty sure that is the basis of it.

Monk strike was rather retarded to begin with. It is probably the first or second most played class behind warrior. If you had any friends or guild it was a non issue .. we just took turns monking for eachother.
As far as in game stuff started by playerbase .. been several. I remember the people trying to organize the St.Patricks Day event which later became an offical one. The scavenger hunt that was tried in the wilds area. I am sure there have been loads of attempts that never got off the ground or didn't get enough press to make it anywhere.
My favorite one was the first official skill balance .. aka the day they killed protective bond. About 100 of us original 55 monks refused to reboot and update till they forced us off the servers.

Didn't the necros end up congregating in LA because every other class got 15k armor and they were missing a set?

They forced you off the servers? Lol, that's pretty funny.
How'd they get you to update though?

Is it like some thing that must happen in all games that healers at one time must either go on strike or charge for their services?

heh the monk strike was more then just wamo's from what I understand it was basicly they felt they were the most important class and people should pay them to party, and that if they arn't going to get paid or treated special they will just not party.
