Ok ive been GW for about a year and i just reached the temple of balthazar, there is a NPC that is called a profession changer, he said something about having to be higher in the stars; what does he mean by this and any suggestions on how i can change my second profession.

You need to ascend.
Prophecies, you ascend after you defeat your doppelganger.
Factions, you ascend after defeating the Celestials.
Nightfall, I think this counts you as ascending when you reach the Sunspear Sanctuary.
You only need one of these to be ascended. After that, you should be able to change it.

But you can also do this if you have Prophicies, by doing quests for the profession trainier the the Desert areas, near where you fight your doppleganger...

Actually it sounds as though he has Factions.
In factions you must complete the quest Closer to the Stars and the mission that leads to inorder to change your second proffesion. Once you have completed the nessary mission you will find a proffesion changer in the next city you are taken to.

Once you get to the mainland, and into the Sunspear Sanctuary, you then have to do a mission to free the captured sunspears. Once you do that, a hero skill trainer, regular skill trainer, and profession trainer will appear in the command post (outpost?) just outside the sunspear sanctuary. I believe that counts as being ascended/closer to the stars, for NF characters.

Another reason why NF is WAY too easy. You don't even have to ascend now -_-.
