Golds, Chests, and Lockpicks. help please.

Hi, and thanks in advance for responding to this.


I have been trying to find good gold weapons and mods from locked chests in Hard Mode, and I have run into a sonewhat large problem: All of the weapons and mods are very bad. I have gotten some price checks, and none of the weapons are worth more than 1.5K or so. No one will buy them from me.
I was wondering if there are certain skins of weapons that are more valuble than others, and what regions those skins can be found in. I am also wondering how to get the most out of my lockpicks, because they are always breaking. Is thre a special trick or does anyone have any tips to help me get the most out of these chests? A final thing that I would like to know is what mods are the most valuble, and what do people look for in a good weapon.

You are better off using them in normal mode where you at least have a chance to keep them. If you have GWEN, do a dungeon you can finish in under half an hour.

Well, that is true, but don't the locked chests in normal mode give worse loot? I really want to get the best loot I can. Also, I have only done one dungeon, so I'm not really sure about those.

Yea, but you have much better retention rate. you could end up with lots of rly bad items (usually purples) or in HM all golds but they might be terrible, overall, farm if you want to get a good weapon. Use a lockpick when ur just having some fun and happen to pass by a chest...Thats my opinion

Loots QUALITY is , in essence, the same, though you will get a TON more purples in NM, thus, "less quality" (as many rare skins only come in gold, not purple) You have really no options, sadly. I would just reccomend biting the bullet, and running alot, so that you get higher titles, and running becomes cheaper.

If you're trying to make money, get the hell away from Lockpicks.

It's the opposite when you reach lvl5 treasure hunter. That's when lockpicks really pay off - with comparatively high retention rates and HM chest runs, you actually end up making more money in elite tomes/rare drops/rare mods. Quickest way of making money that I know off in GW for elite treasure hunters - but it does require some luck and how many unlocks you have on your account.

Or.... you could do the 1 minute run of a particular Ritualist in HM, get 10 Tomes an hour, and make 100k-200k an hour PURELY off of the Tomes. Hell, I merch the green!

I find that a lot of those max mods often come on good purples out of high end chests. Often you can get a +30 on a purple to salvage and use to make your own good golds. I always find the skin I want then get an max baxic one and adjust it as I want it. Perfect salvage makes this easy.

+30's don't spawn on purples.

Regardless, chest running is not a viable way to make money. It was a year ago, but those days are long gone.

Chest running really isn't that good? Wow..... Ok. I guess ill go try a 330 ritualist HM farming build then. too bad the elite tomes cost 20K.

Then save yourself 19k and cap the skill.

The only problem with that is, my ritualist isn't very far. I'd have to nearly beat the game to get to that skill I need.Well, its one or the other.... ugh.
