after playing guildwars for about 1 day and reaching a mind boggling lvl 8, i came to a conclusion of a question that had bothered me for the little while i was playing.....after reaching many instances(cities)where i could see other players i came across something that was puzzling,there were high level people with high level armor and weapons yet they were WALKING

maybe its just me but,i have yet to see a player on a mount in this game,it might be because they cant mount in cities(i doubt it) but i found playing the game pointless after that and i stopped playing,in my opinion theres no point in playing just to look better than other players theres gotta be something else.
are they ever going to consider mounts??

Prestige used to mean something in GW, there are no mounts but if you had 15K/fow armour you were respected. now everyone that has fow armour is accused of buying gold in real life.

Seriously, though, this has been discussed quite a bit. If lack of mounts is a deal breaker for you then try WoW.

but i mean what really sets you apart,im sure every lvl 20 player would like to make peoples jaws drop and dislocate when they get seen.(fullstop) rather than have people having to run up behind them and trial and error an estimate of what lvl they are on.(fullstop)

Try looking in the screenshot section...some of the armor combo's etc are very nice. GW is about vanity...its just personal vanity or vanity among friends... the true pupose of GW to me is the skill/unique thinking you have to do inorder to excell at the different aspects of the game from leveling, to high end pve, to RA, TA, AB, HA and GVG

ok ok appreciated but it still stands,i would like to sew my jaw back when seeing a lvl 20,cause we cant engage in combat so i really dont know how good they are,i might bump into the bestest player in this game n exchange rude speech and i wouldn't know

GW doesn't really need mounts. The purpose of a mount would be to help you get from place to place more quickly, but GW allows you to instantly travel between outposts that you've already visited (by using map travel).

Also, one big feature about this game is that the elite armor options are no better than normal armor options in terms of functionality (the same goes for weapon skins). You can be using the most amazing looking equipment in the game, but if you don't plan your builds and don't use your skills effectively it doesn't matter.

If you want to fight other players, there's pvp. If you want to ride horses, go play wow. There is more to a game then riding stuff around.

If you want to do battle with fellow GW players - Don't try it in PvE! Get yourself into the PvP arenas and go nuts! (you can make a level 20 PVP player right off the bat!)

Level 20s don't exist to make other characters be intimidated by them. They exist to play the game. Unlike most games, the max level in GW is where the game really begins to get strategically fun and challenging.

Mounts don't exist because there is no need to with map travel (hit M, teleport to any town you want).

The thing that i think give prestige in guild wars is the titles

If you see a "god walking amongst mortals" title, you know that person knows their shit....... when i comes to gw

Why is it people come from playing other games and expect GW to be and play exactly like the one they just left? If all games were the same why ever play more than one of them.
