BMP sell seperate petition.

Not sure I understand the greed and immaturity regarding releasing this thing. As a total newb, just picked the GoTY edition of prophecy a few days ago, I find it rather counterintuitive to have content a player can't pay for given the pay model of GW. All this "I've got it and you don't, nyaah nyaah" reminds me of grade school.
I'd love to have something like this and would pay a reasonable price for it. I'm not even sure I can quite grasp *why* they should care if the playground bullies get ticked if they start selling it separately. This isn't like WoW where you can cancel your sub if you get your panties in a bunch over something they do. Worst case scenario is you're not stupid enough to spend money you had no actual reason to in order to get a "free" promotion first in the future. It only makes sense that they would release it first as a "free" promotion and later as a pay-for addon.
If you hadn't picked up a chapter, then a promotion that entices you to do so through the in-game store makes sense, but if you're just buying slots you don't need, you're asking to be disappointed because you're being dumb. This isn't like a limited edition skin or even a mini, these are full blown missions they put a ton of work into - why exactly should they forego continuing to reap revenue from them so somebody who, if they were behaving intelligently, got for free by buying something they actually needed can wave their ePenis a little more?

is there a new way to get bmp? or still only after meeting the requirement of $29.00 total spent on the online store by oct 31? cuz i know someone who had this added to his account w/o purchasing anything from the online store

/not signed due to OP's attitude. You don't deserve it now. You had the time you should have taken another job like many people do when they need more money. The newspaper companies are always in need of extra delivery persons (espeically for kids) and insert personnel once or twice a week. You had ways to make the money you were just lazy and wanted it handed to you on easy platter. So, tough now you ain't gettin it and those of us that have it can look down upon you. hahaha

It's somewhat unfortunate that the only way to make this fine piece of work available to innocents like yourself is also to make it available to those mental pygmies, but suck is life. Still, I suppose depriving assholes of their fun doesn't trump the need to make this available to players that legitimately couldn't get their hands on it for one reason or another.

Hit the nail on the head......thank you!!!

EDIT: This is the real point of this thread........

you must be very smart to compare a divine aura (a simple particle effect) with the BMP
gone
lol that simple particle effect fetches over $3-400 Usd, if you can find Proph CE.
iriyabran
have you done any video editing?
it is insulting to compare the whole bmp pack to a particle effect
and still the chance to find a proph ce is bigger than getting the bmp now isn't it?

I haven't got the BMP.
I don't feel the need for it, have seen the missions played at a friend's home and all the content takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
I'm pretty sure that if they sell it for more than 5 euros people will feel scammed... There is so few content and so few stuff.
Eye Of The North has got 18 dungeons, 12 missions, playable in NM and HM, has got something like 10/12 explorable areas to vanquish, minigames and a lot of other stuff and it costed me 24 euros (normal shop, not online).
How much do you think they can charge for 4 short missions (hey, that's 6/7 minutes of gameplay each)?
I don't have CE aura or CE dances, but I don't complain for that.
I believe a lot of people here is complaining because of the shiny weapon. They are amongst the most beautiful weapons of the game IMHO, but... they are pixels, my life won't change too much by having it or not.
I think that the BMP is the collector bonus for those who bought EotN in the online store, giving more money and support to Anet than those who decided to save their money and pay less (like me).
I made a different choice knowing that I won't get the BMP.
Those who did the same now shouldn't complain at all. Grow up, please.
Now Anet has two choices:
1) give the bonus pack as a separate sale and that will get mad a lot of players who bought stuff as character slots just to qualify for the offer (and if I was one of them I'd be really really mad for that)
2) don't give the bonus pack anymore, but then people will complain because they can't have the shiny weapons given as reward from completing the missions. (But, hey, they knew they had an option... they choose to spend their money in a normal shop knowing that they weren't going to get the BMP... so why complain now?)
For this reasons, to this petition my answer is /notsigned.

yes I'm eating a late brunch with Spielburg as we speak. we're working on the new Indiana Jones flick.
it is insulting to compare a free item to an item that did cost $50 and now costs...LoL.
i'd say the chances are about the same, if you buy an account that met the criteria for the BmP. Ha yeah.

ok but collector editions were always available outside of online store
and people bought them not to save money but because there are a lot of people here who can't shop from the online store for various reasons
p.s. bmp was not free for those who had to forcefully buy stuff just to qualify
because there was no other option
because in the end it's all about money not player base
period!

Oh I don't think it's ok because so many selfish people with such attitude as "hoho you didnt get it? go f*ck yourself haha now we look l33ter than you haha" would be pissed as they are not the only ones who have it anymore. lol can't believe people act this way in A GAME.
Anyway, it's not that I want this promotion continues so []I[/b] will be able to get it because such content does not justify > $10 for me eventhough i really like the new weapons skins. It does not matter for me but it would be nicer for other people who really want it to have second chance to get it.
To those who really want to get this BMP. Don't worry I believe it will be offered again one way or another. I don't see why ANET would want to keep such much-wanted item away from so many people forever.

No don't close it I like laughing at those that didn't get it. <dances around computer chair> You didn't get it and you ain't gettin itl. It was a "promotional" item, you snooze you lose too bad that's the way the ball bounces.

I own the BMP, but I'd like to put people who say /notsigned in front of a painful question: are you ok with people not having access to this part of GW? (no need to explain in length that they knew and could have bought it, blablabla, there's enough said here on this, simply answer this question; in the same vein, it'd be like limiting access to SF)
I personnally am NOT ok with this, it HAS to be shared at one point, while still giving an edge to those who made the effort.

I don't mind them selling stuff like this separately at all. In fact, I would have preferred that. However, I must admit that if they do sell this separately, since I was primarily a brick and mortar/box person, I definitely wouldn't buy stuff online to fulfill another promotion. I would wait until the promotion item was eventually released. I'm sure that's not what ANet wants to hear, but that's the case. The only reason I did buy stuff online through the in-game store is because I thought I couldn't get the BMP any other way. I other words, their marketing event worked on me.
As an alternative, they should have (maybe they they could have) allowed the PlayNC 30 day cards to apply towards stuff in the on-line store as credit instead of time (could buy time if you so chose). PlayNC cards are indeed sold in birck and mortar stores. This way people can buy 2 30-day cards (30 dollars worth total approximately), use them to purchase 30 dollars worth of items in the store, then given them the BMP. I guess it's still not as 'online' as they want since the retailer gets a cut of that sell, but it's an alternative.
Again for those that couldn't get it because of their parents, welcome to not being an adult. Nobody is going to work around your parents either not letting you use a card online or not giving you the money period. One of those in fact (allowing you to buy something online without your parents permission) is actually illegal in many places, as Microsoft is finding out now. As you get older things will change.

Right now they have a lot of Gullible gamers that will buy the BMP for $20-$30 or even $40, it's only a Matter of time before the act like the Good ANET and say we gonna sell the BMP, or extend the original offer for a few more weeks.

People wanted to buy it. They still do.
The desire to get it wouldn't be lowered if the Bonus was sold in much bigger quantities.
So it was a lost opportunity. They could have reached a bigger market with it - made more money - and they failed to do so.

I didn't buy it because I have not, do not, and will not ever have a credit card. I pay with cash first, Interac second (which you can do ONLINE OMG IT'S NOT A CREDIT CARD AND IT WORKS ONLINE!!!) My money is hard earned and it's mine, damnit. I'm not paying some 3rd party interest rate out the ass just to buy something for $30 bloody bucks. And no, to address another reoccuring whine in this thread, not everyone who doesn't have a credit card is underage and/or poor. I spent enough money today to put a kid through college. On Interac. If I can go out and buy a new home theatre system on a whim I'm pretty sure I can afford to spend money on GW's online store. The thing is.. they just don't want my business. If they did, they'd have more payment options. |

Hmm, no one reacted with my suggestion? it was for real, not joke. I think BMP with all the weapons skins could be released completely free in the future, obviously letting current owners of the BMP play and use their weapons as exclusive for a very long time (6 months to 1 year)

Stop trolling about this. Go go debit cards. If you parents are not willing to let you use their debit/credit card to get it, find a friend. I am sure if you present cash to them, they will gladly allow you to use their card, especially if you pitch them an extra 2-3 dollars for the trouble.
If you are 15 or older, get a checking account.... seriously. Time to grow up and start acting your age. Real people don't keep cash in a piggy bank. FDIC, oh how we love thee.

As for separate sale, this will most likely happen as it could be quite profitable - there is no subscription fee + GW is getting old + new MMO's are coming.
However all the people who purchased character slots indeed do have the right to enjoy new content before everyone else. Many of them now finally have the chance to see elite skin weapon wielded by there characters. So exciting.

The BMP promo was on for ages, if you couldnt scrape up enough money to buy one what were you doing? Why should people that buy it within the time constraint be punished (as such), when people who didnt buy it get a second chance? And going through financial difficulties? Well playing Guild Wars, and going on forums is no way to make money.

think of it this way.
The BMP was offered as a REWARD for spending $29usd in the INGAME store. it was basicly a thank you present for spending that money.
now would you be complaining if you bought something from game stop and then went home and saw that the gamestop website had a deal where you get something for free along with the game that you just bought from the store?
argh thats how i see how this BMP is, its a thank you for useing the ingame store.

Why? We were warned three months in advance.
Like some of you already said, I aso like to have game boxes in my possession when I buy a game. And with the announcement of the BMP I thought: Well, I guess because it's a limited offer, I'll go ahead and buy GWEN through the ingame store. I won't get the box, which I love to have, but I'll some nice missions to compensate.
Now tell me this: If A-Net puts the BMP for sale, my purcharse on the store was useless, and I could have bought the game in a real store so I could get the box. If A-Net puts the BMP on sale, I want my GWEN box.
You were warned. Oh, you did'nt know about the weapons? That's too bad, I guess, but the BMP was announced three months in advance. You should have read the website and stayed informed.
The only ones I really feel sorry for are the ones who could'nt buy from the ingame store for whatever reason. But there were three months people. You could have gotten to figure out how you could buy stuff online.
If BMP comes out seperatly, then, there will be petitions for refunds and whatnot. Who, in their perfect sense would buy 3 character slots that serve no good? I would like the GWEN box, but I sacrificed it over to the BMP. If it sells seperatly, I want a GWEN box.
