First, here's the short story behind this. About a week ago my Gw account was banned for a breach of the EULA. Since I didn't do anything to breach the EULA, I figured it was a mistake and submitted a ticket through the PlayNC support site. When asked to verify that I was the original owner of my account, and I am, I gave them the information from the credit card I used to purchase Nightfall and Eye of the North in the in-game store. The key for Nightfall they accepted, but I was told the key from Eye of the North couldn't be used because it was an expansion.
This confused me. Eye of the North uses the same 25-digit access key as the campaigns and costs about the same amount of money. Not allowing players to use the code to confirm their ownership of the account doesn't make any sense to me, and when I asked the support staff about it I didn't get any answer other than it's the way it's because its the way it is.
I cannot see any reason why the access key for Eye of the North shouldn't count for account verification. I believe this is a flaw in Arenanet's system and should be changed.
Before anything happens, let me make this clear. The goal of this thread isn't to get my account back, just to change the policy of account verification to allow the use of the Eye of the North access key.
