ill tell you what im doing ATM

Im a monk, lvl 8 ATM (i think) going for LS (3)... tyrian born

my current build is

Shield of Regeneration
Reversal of Fortune
Sheilding Hands
Aegis
Dismiss Condtion
Remove Hex
Blessed Aura
Rebirth

Im gonna get a Necro hero for defense/energy purpose;
build can be found here http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:N/...c_Blood_Bonder
im at Borlis path

My Plan:

either Get to Lvl 20 by playing through Tyria doing all mission/bonuses
getting max armor KC...
except dragon lair bonus and dunes bonus...
im stopping after dragons lair...
then getting attribute quests

OR
get run to LA, get max armor...
get run to droks...
beg my friend to power lvl me for free :P

Then go to Cantha and play through the campaign
trying my best for masters,
but not trying to rush myself to death...
and then do doorman at lutgurdis for EXP...

Want Tips On:

other 2 heros...
but i want the frst one to be a BiP necro support...
possible build suggestion... im keeping to prot,
and not using prot spirt or spirt bond...
i take 1-15 dmg with SoR and shielding...
so those 2 will be no help at all...

NOTE:

i dont want to play through NF it is risky....
so no para or rit builds cause i gotta get far in NF for them...
i dont got EotN i have everything else though
no im not gonna 55 my way...
do the thing at the market place...
or any farming method...
im so over that i tryed them
one mis click DEAD

i will be checking the forum here and there for any tips... i will be VERY happy for any helpful tips

PM in game if u wish

Having a good friend to help you through the earlier parts helps a TON.

I'd suggest getting run to LA by a friend (dont pay for one, as you may have to leave if things get hairy). Have a friend help you to Cantha. Get max armor. There are tons of high-exp quests there, that can get you to level 20 quickly.

Cap skills. Use exp scrolls. Take all the quests you can find.

Oh and I can't forget....don't die.

If you dont have heros of your own, having a friend or guildy that does is a massive help.

My warrior got her legendary survivor after countless quests and many skill caps.

And good luck to you.

Well... This may be a tad risky but I'm sure you could 55 minotaurs in HM somewhere in prophecies to get your XP. That's what I did with my warrior... Well without the 55 part, and I had 2 bonder heroes for safety.

I don't know the exact area where the minotaurs were but I know that there was a large group of 8-10 level 24-ish I think that were literally RIGHT next to a zone portal, so you could kill them and immediately rezone and repeat. I even think there was a guru thread on this spot with a guy claiming he got his ele to r3 survivor in 6 hours play time after achieving level 20.

An MM is always usefull to have as a survivor, since most enemies will waste the small time they spend alive attacking minions.

As second hero I'd bring a water ele with ward against harm and maelstrom (filled up with damage skills).

The way I did it with my Monk was to do anything and everything I cold to gain XP in the early parts of the game. I did every secondary profession quest available in pre-searing before taking Mesmer as my secondary. I made sure I took care of every little quest after the searing as well. After all, the goal is to generate XP with as little risk as possible.

I did every mission/bonus with henchies up to LA, then I got guildies to help me get to cantha for max armor and Elona for heroes. Because of a possible glitch with the Visunah Square mission (death by cut-scene!) I didn't bother with factions missions. I went to Elona and started going through the story-line there, getting up to the Grand Court mission. This opens up most of Kourna and a lot of Vabbi.

Once I got my heroes to level 20, I'd pop over to cantha and do the 3K XP quests out of kaineng center and the surrounding area from time to time.

I then went back to Tyria and played through to ascention - I tested the Monk build wiki gives to beat the doppleganger with my Mesmer first -don't want to risk a failure! Having ascended, I then could change secondaries for the next step. I waited for a double XP for skill caps weekend and went nuts! In Kourna and Vabbi, there are TONS of elites to capture, and those areas (Kourna especially) are not difficult. I probalby got over 700K XP just from capturing elite skills!

personally i find its best to have one reliable partner who is level 20 and has heroes to help you through to Lion's Arch, then go to NF to gain the heroes, once there i tend to use the reliable partner to help in difficult areas but use heroes and henchemn elsewhere, do plenty of the quests but avoid master ones, and capture elite skills for your profession. being a monk on one of my survivor attempts at the moment i tend to go smiting and let others heal as i find that more relaxing.

You should have started in Elona. Elona's bounties, combined with exp scrolls, made it ridiculously easy for me to get rank 1. Also, its fairly cheap to get to Consulate Docks.

When you get heroes you don't have to do anything. Making all sorts of special builds is only necessary when you start farming in HM. In NM just flag your guys near the enemies, stand just inside the aggro bubble, and reap the experience. Just be vigilant and stay out of combat. I always use Dunkoro(Healing b/c I have some Prot in my build), Acolyte Sosuke, and Melonni because they seem to have a nice balance and I don't have to go into the game very far to get them. Zhed seems to have somewhat better AI but you don't get him until mid-game. I'd take advantage of this weekend if possible. Double exp from skill caps doesn't come along often/

Note:Do not get run to Drok's. You will die. There is no way to avoid it. I can't remember which area but one of them has a substantial mob close to the door and their patrol will put them in your path.

In my view your plan is way too unfocused to have a good chance of success. No need to muddle up your chances by doing bonuses or going for Faction mission master rewards or going to any areas that you aren't required to be in on your way to Lut. You can always go back and get your bonuses etc. later once your Legendary Survivor has been acquired. In the end, getting that result is the only thing that matters, so no need to do anything to jeopardize it. Your skillbar is pretty much irrelevant because if you are casting anything, chances are you are putting your title in unnecessary jeopardy by being too close to the action. Might wanna take prot spirit and a few things like that so you can keep yourself alive long enough to logout if you start taking damage; but for the most part there's no need to have or use any skills on your bar.

Best, safest, and smartest way is to just don't ever fight. Period. Let your Heroes and/or Henchies and/or friends kill everything for you on the way to Lut whilst you stay well out of aggro range of any enemy.

There are a few spots where you might be forced to be semi-near aggro range, like Sunjiang, but for the most part there is no need to and no reason whatsoever for a Legendary Survivor title seeker to be anywhere near the aggro range of any enemy. If by accident you start taking damage, logoff immediately before you die.

When you get to Lut without dying, you've made it. Just be a Doorman til you got the title finished successfully.

mine just died today 300k away from legendary
was doing dwarven boxing, a good source of exp if you know what you're doing.
I don't usually die there even in hm, but for some reason I lost concentration today and actually stared at my character as the timer ticked away...
my advice? stay focused all the time (easier said than done really)

Vizunah Square can be done if the other team is all henchmen. Quit if they're not. Thats pretty gay but at least you won't die. You can beat it easily with an MM hero and then whatever you like. Just make sure you tell everyone(if you're partying with real ppl) to skip the cutscene. I like all henchmen teams because they keep Togo and Mhenlo alive better than ones with real ppl.

ive done 2 survivors, one made it and the other didnt. both did all the Tyria missions, did all missions in cantha up to eternal grove and gyala hatchery and in nightfall got past the desolation. got bonus/masters in all missons, did most quests and capped every primary and secondary skill as i played through the game. my first attempt( a ranger) died getting stupid farming xp in HM in the desolation just as i hit 1 mil xp. i made sure i didnt make that mistake again on the Mesmer that i finaly got legendary survivor on. i have since restarted the ranger and also have an assassin and monk going. the ranger and monk will both be replacements to 2+ year old characters who never got the chance to get survivor.

wow, i was reading your post and for some reason i thought i wrote this coz this is exactially what happened to me, i got KO, and was grumbling how useless kilroy is, then i just stared at my char for no reason while i was down and it was @ 8 seconds i realized had to get up and was too late, you have died 1 times

anyway i'm half way writing a tut regarding kilroy punchout extravaganza because i'm not sure if people know this is the best place in the entire game to get survivor.

Thats what i started to do with my survivor, he has 380k xp, i want legendary, but at least rank 2. Boxing seems to net quite a few xp points

Requiring a BiP Necro? You suck. Protective Spirit useless? You're an idiot. Nightfall being 'too risky' for a survivor? You suck.

Also, it's very easy to avoid death in Dreadnoughts on a run. The two ways I know how is to either hide in the corner on your right side behind you when you load and get the rest of the team to run out into the mob. Failing that, you could always pack a running skill or two and run out after the runner who's taken the attention of the Summit. It's quite safe to sit down behind that mob.

To be honest, if you're playing through the game without farming, you're gonna have to do all the annoying side quests.

The last 200k is hell to get (my opinion) because at that stage, you have to take risks. Guess which part of the title I"m stuck on?

Or you could just continue to farm certain areas, such as The Wajjun Bazaar or Kilroys Punchout Extravaganza. Running 2000+ HP in Wajjuns with 9 pips of regen and Spirit Bond is a very small risk.

Well, let's check this out.

Heros:

Run Two Hero monks on a survivor. They will provide much needed COMPETANT healing. You will find them superior to henchman monks because:

~Better Control
~8 Skill Bar Vs. 5 Skill Bar
~Smarter AI
~You can Provide better Equipment

I usually run Dunkoro On a WoH or LoD, and Talhkora on a ZB Prot. On top that, Mhenlo normally joins my party, but since you're a monk, I don't think that's nescasarry.

As for your third hero, that all depends.

~If you know you will be entering.....

-A Zone with mobs that are fleshy and do not spike
Bring an MM hero or an AoE Elementalist hero, I usually go with the latter.

-A Zone with very strong Casters
A BHA/inturupt Ranger or an Anti Caster Mesmer

-A Zone with very violent Spikes
A ritualist with Shelter, Union Etcetera, or another protection monk.

-A Zone with very strong physical attacks
An Anti Melee Mesmer

By the way, I just completed my Secondary LS yesterday, Kudos to me. I can tell you how I got it.

My party usually consists of two monk heros, a third hero depending on the situation, and Mhenlo, Devona, Cynn, and Eve. They're all very effective henchman and will provide good healing, good damage, and great performance.

I henched/Heroed my way through the campaigns, doing all the quests as I went along, asking guildmembers to help me with the harder missions and quests.

My advice to you is to get to Cantha, do the high experience and repeatable quests, and capture the skills on double cap weekends. I got over 300,000 experience within a few hours capping skills this past weekend with my paragon, and got him to LS. It's a very easy way to go about it, and it costs very little considering what you get.

That's my personal advice, good luck with your monk.

Oh, and..

ALWAYS Carry a hard resurect on your bar. Resurection Chant, Flesh of my Flesh, or Rebirth. This way, if you run, and your henchman don't make it, you don't have to rezone to kill the mob again.

well I got survivor(1) on my paragon just completing Nightfall missions and every quest I could find before even getting the primary to complete docks. It was really easy. I used Olias as a MM, Dunkoro and a random third hero. Right now I'm working on survivor(2) but have completed all the quests I could find in the training area of elona. I completed docks with ease but my group attacked the last guards before I could complete the bonus... oh well a re-do lol. This one will be a bit more time consuming I'm sure...

You can't see me: I can never get Tahlkora to cast ZB. She just won't. I've rearranged her bar and did all sorts of things but she never casts ZB in battle. I could be under 30% and dying and she still won't heal me. I give her Shield of Regen because she will cast it w/o hesitation. She just uses Channeling as energy management now. *lol*

I can't agree on your choice in henchmen. I find Herta, Sogolan, Kihm, and Gerhaz(he doesn't really matter but I like Dervs) to be the best combo for Survivor. Herta and Sogolan are great support guys. Especially Herta. Ward Against Melee is especially helpful. Sogolon's extra healing and ranged damage ensures that he stays alive more often than not. Kihm, unlike Tahlkora, uses ZB w/o hesitation. So I generally combo Dunk and Kihm.

She always casts it for me. I can't really help you on that one. But if you prefer SoR, then that's you.

As for your henchman, I made my list to adhere to all campaigns. I'll replace a few on that list from campaign to campaign, but those are the best that I find to be the best. And Khim, unlike Tahlkora, for me, can seem to use her skilsl when she needs to, and dies on large mobs very often.

No one ever thought of HFFF (Hero Fast Faction Farming)?

I'm 200.000 XP away from R3 because of it in just 2 weeks of full HFFFing.
