Ping really high!

Hi guys,
Everytime i load up GW my ping becomes extremly high (red) and takes about 10seconds to go to a low ping how can i fix this? or is it unfixable?

Why not just wait for 10 seconds until it goes to a low ping? Everyone's is probably the same as the connection to the server will just be stabilising if you've only just joined the game.

Mine starts out at +/-3000ms but drops to <100ms after a few seconds.

I'd suggest two things:

1. A friend of mine once had that problem. He solved it by getting more RAM for his computer.

2. Your internet connection may not have much "throughput", so, when you first connect to the game and/or enter a town, the connection gets bogged down while the server sends all the data on who/what else is in the town.
