since we are on the subject of unconditionals, can someone verify for me that if you mod a 14% unconditional it will add a negative condition to it.

well I added a Zealous to my Chaos and it added a -1 nrg ...waaaaa
matter of fact it gave me two -1 nrg. one for the zealous and one extra....
and it stayed even when I replaced it with a furious.
I swear to god it didnt before.
then thinking back I kinda recall that Anet did that to all 14% unconditionals (if u mod the front part).
Can anyone verify that please.

I modded my 14% hammer with prefix and suffix and then customized it and it is still 14%
I know absolutely tons and tons of people with uncons ranging from 13-15% who have modded them in the last year or so and nothing has happened.
I think you must just be confused or mistaken.
Unconditional weapons dropped from Arid Sea chest in gold.
But also in Kryta. It is possible to have purple and gold uncons from Kryta. I have seen a gold and purple bows from Kryta which are uncon and rediculously far from max damage. I have screens of both, the purple one I saw in-game.

I still have my req 7 max dmg Gold Wingblade Sword 15^50 (not customized) and a req 7 max dmg Gold Fiery Dragon Sword 14 while enchanted (customized). I also have a req 7 Gold Barbed War Axe 15^50 (1pt off max dmg at 6-27dmg).
Also have a couple of original req 8 Tyrian Gold Swords 15^50 with Long Sword and Flamberge skins.
Never use them, but it's nice to have some rare items from the first year.

A long time ago there were much more of these being found, I get the impression that everything on sale right now is one of the legacy drops. But then again people claim they still drop from level<20 monsters, however I never saw anything to prove that.

i have had a few req 7's over my 2 1/2 yrs playing, not including beta. max celestial sword, req 7, 15% enchanted, req 7, 14% enchanted, req 7 -2/-2 defender, a req 7, 16 armor, +30 celestial shield.
and back in the 3rd week of release, i had the chance to buy a req 8 15% unconditional shortbow, needless to say, i didnt have the cash at the time.
