Need a PvE chain
jon0592
I just created an assassin because of all the normal tomes I've farmed.
My question is, I need a 4-6 chain with room for utility like Crit Agility, Crit Defences, Res, etc.

Sneak Attack --> [skill=text]Exhausting Assault[/skill] --> [skill=text]moebius strike[/skill] <--> [skill=text]death blossom[/skill]

Looks interesting, but like I said I just started my 'sin, and he is very far from Sneak Attack.

If you talk about PvE i assume you will go with heroes and hench. Since they are good in killing your target fast it is unlikely that you can use the moebius strike death blossom very often on a single foe.
It is very nice to kill bosses and tougher foes (like wurms or even jotun)
I often use a alternative combo line for tough/ not so tough enemies.

[skill]Golden Phoenix Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Moebius Strike[/skill]
Frees up a slot if you use GPS rather than L-O or L-D (in Exausting Assault's case), and since you're using Crit Aglity you should have no problems with the requirement. If you're facing weak foes (lvl 20's or lower) and are in an H+H, maybe bring instead [skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill]. Uses two skills, but they both recharge in 4 seconds, so you shouldn't ever have time to twiddle your thumbs.

Am I the only one that when he mouses over the GFS skill, it says 8 seconds, yet if you actually go to the wiki site it says 4 seconds? o_O

Yeah. It has been updated since the release of NF. The skills on Guru haven't.
Adding [skill]Shattering Assault[/skill] or [skill]death blossom[/skill] to the Golden Fox Strike->Wild Strike chain would be good. Death Blossom has AoE damage, Shattering Assault helps your team get past defensive enchantments.
EDIT: And yes, Golden Fox Strike->Wild Strike->Shattering/Death Blossom is better than MS+DB against weak enemies.

Not true. VERY few low-levels carry blocks, and even fewer bring non-stance blocks. You really don't need a full unblockable combo, though you do often need a fast-recharging chain. Therefore, GFS > WS > DB is much better, and add in MS and you'll do even more damage. Even if you don't get to MS, your chain still recharges in 4 seconds, but if the enemy is actually tough, you can bash 'em with MBlossom forever (which is the ones you should be going for - for weaker enemies, 'sins aren't that great and you're better off bringing a different person). There's hardly any reason not to bring MS-DB spam. Seriously, it's absolutely godly.
EDIT: Also, it's got about ten times better energy-management. SA is 10 energy, which drains you pretty quick unless you've got some sort of energy management, but then that means you've lost another slot so you can keep using your combo.

True, Death Blossom would actually be better against low level enemies.
Your idea of bringing MS anyways is good, if your GFS->WS->DB chain doesn't kill, go into the spam. I'd bring Critical Strike for energy, too though.

ensoriki
jagged strike
Wild strike
Death blossom
Siphon Strength,/Moebius strike
Deaths retreat
Dark escape/dash
Shadow Refuge/feigned neutrality
Resurrection signet/ Disrupting stab.
In pve you really don't need a long chain except for moebius or assassins promise chains as they take away the recharge, and sins promise refreshes your energy.
With Siphon strength you can help the pressure your monks are taking from when the wammo over aggroes to many warriors. And it boosts your crit rate (dps increase). If you add disrupting stab, you can disrupt attacks that will get ya.....
Take when doing The Kraken Mission >.>
Take Siphon and Disrupting stab (unless you need the rez) vs Varesh ossa, Shiro, other bosses.
Moebius for general pve otherwise doing multiple death blossoms is great.
Take a paragon hero with energy boosting skills.
But seriously >.>
In pve why would you ever need a chain longer than 4? Inconceivable.

I noticed I never gave a build... Well, here's the one I'd run if I was in a lower-level area:
[skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Moebius Strike[/skill][skill]Critical Strike[/skill][skill]Critical Defenses[/skill]Critical Agility[skill]Way of Perfection[/skill]
You could sub in [skill]Critical Defenses[/skill] for [skill]resurrection Signet[/skill]. Otherwise, the build works great (my build actually uses [skill]golden phoenix strike[/skill] and [skill]Critical Eye[/skill] instead of [skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill] and [skill]Wild Strike[/skill], though lower-level PvE needs a faster recharging chain. You've got great defenses, a very nice heal from CS+WoP, and AoE damage out the wazoo. And in PvE, damage is utility, defenses, healing, and, well, damage, all rolled into one. You get the best of all worlds here.

Jaigoda, that's exactly what I'd run, with the exception of WoP. I'd ditch that for a res.
Ensoriki, I'd ditch Jagged Strike for Golden Fox Strike. The +damage from GFS will do more damage than the bleeding from Jagged, and a 4 second recharge is short enough.

I prefer healing over a res because, honestly, I almost never use it. If I bring Res Sig once I use it I feel like I've lost a slot, and if I bring a hard res, it's for after-battle res. But I'm a squishy frontliner, so if the party's about to wipe, chances are I'm not going to be getting out. It's sad, but true. I just feel like there aren't many cases where a res will actually do much good for my build.
