Do you ever remake characters?
Ebony Shadowheart
I have 20 characters, all of which have been re-rolled at some point or another.
I started in one campaigne, decided I didn't want that char to start there, deleted and started in another.
10 months ago I took an almost 1 yr old ele and deleted her simply because she was 1) too tall for my liking and 2) I hated her hair style/color and face combo. She's now my legendary survivor. ^.^
My first monk was re-rolled almost a dozen times since I was trying to get legendary on her as well. I decided not to redo her when I died saving a guildie shortly after lvl 2. I've thought about redoing her since, but I've had my life threatened by my guildies as to things that may happen if I should ever remake her (she has 4mil xp) lol.
I think for the most part I'm set on my characters and I doubt I'll remake them unless for some reason I want to try for legendary on one again. Probably not because it's just such a hassle and I'm tired of being harrassed by assholes for having goals.

I deleted 8 characters one after the other just because I was sick of the names. Didn't remake them all straight away, most are back now. But it takes me about 30 minutes to make a new character because they have to have the perfect name. Currently about 3 of my 9 characters are possible candidates for deletion for stupid names. Yep, names really are THAT important. :P

of the characters that I play, none not a single one has ever been rerolled (one was a mule for about 6 months).
of the mules.....welll some were made specially to see what they would look like and after taking screenies they sat a few days and then deleted. I do have a few mules with birthdays soon (december and january), not sure if I will keep them for a second birthday since I dont really like the minis for second year.
sorry OP no big stories....

I remade my first ele into a monk because I liked my second better. Now I'm smart enough not to have to of one profession.
Rayne Nightfyre
Nope, never remade any character. I might in the future if A-Net doesn't come up with some way to transfer characters across accounts. I have a Necromancer and Ranger on my second account that kinda just sit there and collect dust. They both have gotten pretty far in PvE so I can't get myself to delete them. :/
netniwk
remade my necro 4 times, now he is dead and burried

I've never considered remaking one. If anything, I'd buy new character slots so I could make another <|profession|> but why throw away all the work I've done on any other character?
Rohan
I only use about three PvE characters(monk, ranger, war) and each has minor flaws, but since they all are PvP ready with multiple armor sets and customized weapons I'd rather not. Also, my monk and war are over two years old and my ranger is over one year old so I don't feel liking putting in a bunch of time and money just to fix a minor flaw in the appearance or change a name.
I do, however, have a mesmer, ele, and necro that I'd probably remake since I don't really use them for much and haven't put much time into

Re-Made around 40 lvl 20's with 15k armor. I enjoy making new chars so it all good
. I have 9 now with everything they need but I feel a slight urge to delete my dervish and get a monk.

Little Shenanigan
i remake my characters a lot because i get bored with them, but then like two or three months later i delete the character i just made to make the old one....i'm sick of starting over again, so i'm only going to do it once more.

Often if I'm serious about raising up a pve character I will reroll it several times while it's still low-level.
I frequently get bored of characters, strip them of everything, and delete them. Then I get bored with my more important characters, make a new one, and the cycle begins anew. It doesn't help that I seem to enjoy raising up a baby character more than actually doing stuff with it once it's "complete".
I sometimes wish I could reroll my monk. Some of the face/hair options in Factions and Nightfall are a bit more appealing. But quite aside from being my favorite character to play, I've put a LOT of work into her. She's 2 missions away from being Legendary Guardian. And I still like how she looks
I get more attached to my characters as time goes on, but only my monk is permanently safe from deletion. Sometimes the idea of killing all the characters but her and having a huge PvP stable ready to go is appealing.

Yes I delete and start characters over and have done it several times just to prove we don't need any hair stylists or the ability to change our names coded into the game for convience. Since one can get back to max level within two days easy and go around gathering up the useful skills again. So, if you want a new hair style or gender change or name change it's very simple, delete your old character and make a new one. Afterall the game is free to play online so it's not like you don't have the TIME to do these things.

pamelf
I remake them, but keep the old one. I just buy a new char slot so I can see the difference...
Winterclaw
I've only rerolled twice so far, but I'm planning on rerolling one or two in the near future.
Shadowfox1125
I've always wanted to remake my warrior because I don't like his hair.. but he's my main, so I just bought a slot and made another. Bah.
I deleted a Factions male Ele who had already beaten Factions to make an Female NF Ele. Yeah.

i tried making a monk 5 times 2 of which I got to level 20 and deleted all of them because i dont like playing that class. I made 4 necros and deleted the first 3 times and I still have the 4th. Thats about it :P

I rerolled my monk twice because people gave me such grief with my first two (this was back when the monk strike was going on in THK). I've been thinking of deleting my third monk now because I made a factions mini monk (they just look so cute) but she looks like a midget in GW:EN (Ogden is taller than her for crying out loud, at she barely comes up to Jora's waste).
I remade my necro a day or two after I made her because I didn't like the hair style.
I remade my ritualist because I was working on his survivor title and one of the festival quests killed him, I rage deleted him well over a year ago and just a few days ago remade him.
I deleted an assassin a couple weeks into the release of factions because there was so much assassin hate going on that I couldn't get into a group at Arborstone. A few days ago I remade him also.
I have made more mesmers than I care to count to farm commendations for free ale, but have recently made one I tend to stick to.
I have made a couple of elementalists, at first I didn't like how they played, but recently was playing with one in AB and decided it would be worth my time to make a pve ele and after a few name changes and body changes by making her in different chapters have found one that will stick in nightfall.

I've remade my Elementalist, Ranger, Ritualist, Necromancer and Dervish several times, due to armor not matching the character.
Now i've deleted most of them because i only want a handful of characters to play with. Currently have a Mesmer, Necromancer, Monk and a Perma-Pre Ranger.
Thinking about rerolling the necromancer again actually.

I remade my necromancer 3 times before he even left pre searing. (Twice more afterwards.)

I remade my necromancer about a thousand times, trying to get one that I actually like, and I recently deleted my Mesmer, because I just didn't like her, I was pretty far with her, but my new one is just much better looking.
I'd love to recreate my Warrior, but he's my original character that I've had for two years now. It would be too much of a waste to lose all of that time.

I know I do. I remade my monk, ranger and warrior because I didn't like the face. They were all lvl 20. Still, I couldn't stop myself. I'd like to know your opinions and your stories about remade characters. |

I don't usually... when I make a new character I'll remake until I actually like it, but that doesn't take too long usually. I've had a urge to delete my monk and my warrior (monk to change looks, warrior because mine's female and wanted a male one). They eventually passed. However, I'm at a point where I'm getting seemingly bored of this game, and I'm considering buying extra slots to work on chars again... because I don't want to delete my current characters.
The only exception is my PvP slot that I reroll every now and then x].

I remade my Necro and Ele tones of times.
Mostly when GW came out, I was just creating them for storage so was not putting much thought in their face or hair.
Once it was time to create a Necro, I made him and he is still around.
But I never deleted a character that I played a while with, I don't have the heart.
Oops I forgot, I deleted my Paragon after getting to Kodash Bazaar. Their play style did not fit me much.

I want to remake my monk every time I look at him. He's fat, bald, and has an annoying smirk on his face. He looks like a pedophile rather than any time of video game character. Especially when I see how some female monks look, the desire to delete him grows more and more. Unfortunately that desire is a fleeting one when I remind myself that he wears obsidian armor and to delete him would be a complete waste...

I've started plenty of characters only to delete them and then decide to make another of the same profession (usually because it seemed like a good idea at the time). However, I rarely delete level 20 characters since by that point I've unlocked a fair few skills, bought decent armor and generally set them up.
The times I have deleted characters to remake them, it was either because I didn't like the class and then had an urge to play it again later (assassin, paragon), the name was crappy and I had a flash of inspiration for a better one (necro, monk) or I wanted to start on a different campaign (monk, ranger, necro).

Under level 20 - I've deleted so many I couldn't begin to guess at the total number. I know I deleted all of the first 10-20 characters I made, as my oldest character is two months younger than my account.
Level 20's -- I've deleted 3 so far...
1) Elementalist after the first AoE scatter update (November '05) - suddenly ele's had basically no place in PvE, couldn't find groups, etc. I already had multiple accounts and other level 20's at that point, so I deleted the ele and just played other characters for a while.
2) Male monk. Ugly as sin, deleted after his first birthday. Too bad for me he was the only char on my main with the first Wintersday hats, and I deleted him just before the hat NPC was introduced.
3) Female paragon. The hair that looked "white" to match the armor/angelic theme turned out dishpan grey in-game, finally got sick of looking at it in my log-in screen and tired of using her as a mule, so she got the axe.
Next up will likely be my Dervish b/c she's a Survivor (1) and not getting any further (I used her as a test build guinea pig while I was lagging bad one day, that was a mistake).
Next will be my almost 2-year old warrior, if and when I decide to bring my LDoA warrior to post-searing to replace him.
But my favorite re-roll story: An old guildy had to delete a level 20 warrior that had multiple sets of 15k armor and customized perfect weapons back in Dec '05 -- he was a teenage kid, and his mom didn't like the character's name and made him delete it. Parental pwnage ftw lol.

I've also deleted a bunch of low lvl characters because I dodn't like their looks.
The one that hurt the most for me was the Dervish whose name I spelled wrong. D'oh! I din't notice the spelling error until I sorted my characters alphabetically one day and he showed up in the wrong place. It sucked because he had 15k Sunspear Armor...dyed Black! I just couldn't stand looking at that name anymore. Oh well...it made me extra cautious with names and I like my new Dervish better. Monument Armor ftw!
