The Ursan Underworld Chest "Run" Guide
Standard disclaimers... with experienced players and Essence of Celerity, the Underworld Chest can be acquired in under 2 hours. This requires a very experienced and cohesive team. Most teams will finish between 2 and 3 hours in normal or hard mode. I have found impatience to be the bane of this "Run".
The goal of this "Run" is the Underworld Chest (and possibly an Eternal Blade). To achieve this goal you must complete 10 Underworld quests. To not waste time, the hardest quests are attempted first. There are 2 "difficult" quests. The hardest being The Four Horsemen quest in the Chaos Planes. The second hardest is the Servants of Grenth quest in the Ice Wastes. So this guide addresses them first. All the other quests are either easy and/or tedious after these first two. The level of difficulty obviously increases in hard mode. There is very little variation in the order of the quests possible. Order for the rest of the quests in the guide is significant due to using the Reapers for teleporting the team around the Underworld.
This "Run" can be done in Normal or Hard Mode as stated above. The team builds are slightly different and presented below.
Normal Mode Team Build
This is just one of many Normal Mode Ursan Blessing variations. This team build consists of 5 Ursans, 2 Monks (primarily heal), and 1 Obsidian Flesh tank. The tank is required for the Four Horsemen quest. You can use Warrior, Dervish, or Ele for this tank. You decide.
Ursans can be any class. Nothing new here, the goal of an Ursan build is too stay in Ursan Blessing as long as possible. An Ursan Mimicry build could prove useful. There are many Obsidian Flesh tank builds out there. Just find one. The monks should bring a combination of Heal and Hex Removal. Bonding is not necessary.
Below is a sample Ele Obsidian Tank build and a sample Monk build which I have used on this run in normal mode. These are just 2 that work, there are many others.

Glyph of Swiftness allows Obsidian Flesh to be kept up indefinitely. This is a must for the Four Horsemen quest, although Signet of Humility can be a problem. With Arcane Mimicry, the ele can grab Ursan Blessing from a team member and be a 6th Ursan if necessary.

Hard Mode Team Build
First of all, I can not take credit for this hard mode team build. I was fortunate enough to make a run with IGN King Zarthias. What is presented below is the team build and monk builds we used to run in hard mode.
The hard mode team build consists of 4 R10 or R9 Ursans, 3 monks, and 1 Obsidian Flesh tank. The Obsidian Flesh tank build from normal mode above works for hard mode. It is the monk builds that are the key to hard mode. All three monks are Monk Mesmers. The healing monks use Arcane Mimicry to copy each others elite skill. This allows the healing monks to both cast heals faster and for higher health value. The Spell Breaker monk supports the Obsidian Flesh tank in the Four Horsemen quest and the Servants of Grenth quest.

2. Light of Deliverance Monk - mimics Healer's Boon elite from Monk #1

These monk builds are just suggestions that appear to work. Feel free to modify based on your experience.
Additional Notes
One more important note. It is so, so, so, important that team members do NOT take quests until told to. Everyone knows this right? That's all on that.
And another thing everyone knows... Reapers can not die or the "Run" is over.
And just to reiterate..., the order of quests is somewhat important here. You can rearrange some quests but read through the guide before rearranging... there is no real benefit for wasting time on inconsequential details.
One last note: definitely for hard mode, bring consumables and any asuran summons your team has available. Normal mode only needs Essence of Celerity to accomplish the goal. This is not to say you can't do hard mode with out consumables... but remember the goal is less than 2 hours.

The Ursan Underworld Chest "Run"
1. Complete Clear the Chamber Quest and acquire the Restore the Monuments Quest
- clear aatxe and nightmares from the starting Chamber.
- take the Clear The Chamber quest from the Lost Soul. Everyone can take this quest at the same time.
- clear the chamber and clear toward the Reaper of the Labyrinth, kill dryders last .
- take reward for Clear the Chamber quest from Reaper of the Labyrinth. (1 complete)
- take the Restore the Monuments quest from the Reaper of the Labyrinth, ONLY! Do NOT take any others.
2. Complete the Four Horsemen Quest
- head to the Chaos Planes, clear the Chaos Planes and spawn Reaper of the Chaos Planes. You don't have to clear all the mindblade spawns, just the ones closest to the Reaper area. If unsure, clear them all.
- don't kill dryders around monument until done with all mindblade spawns. Leave them for last, kill dryders and popups.
- do NOT take the Four Horsemen quest yet. Send Obsidian Flesh tank to one side, and all others to the other side of the Reaper. Sides do not matter. See red dots in picture below. If in hard mode, send the Spell Breaker monk to support the Obsidian Flesh tank. The horsemen use Signet of Humility. Spell Breaker can back up the tank in case the Obsidian Flesh elite is disabled.
- take the Four Horsemen quest from the Reaper of the Chaos Planes (monk should do this). This is the hardest quest!
- when the Ursan side completes go help the Obsidian Flesh tank.
- take reward from the Reaper of the Chaos Planes. (2 complete)
3. Complete the Servants of Grenth Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Labyrinth.
- head to the Ice Wastes, only clearing where the Reaper spawns is required, kill dryders around statue last, spawn the Reaper of Ice Wastes.
- do NOT take the Servants of Grenth quest yet. Send all but 1 from your team to the TerrorWeb spawn point. See picture below. In hard mode it is beneficial to have the Obsidian Flesh tank be the focus of the TerrorWebs and the Ursans attack from "behind" but spread out.
- take the Servants of Grenth quest from the Reaper of the Ice Wastes. This is the second hardest quest! And naturally much tougher in hard mode.
- kill 3 spawns of 6 TerrorWebs each, located where coldfire paths intersect.
- take reward from the Reaper of the Ice Wastes. (3 complete)
4. Complete the TerrorWeb Queen Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Chaos Planes.
- head to Spawning Pools, clear Spawning Pools and spawn the Reaper of the Spawning Pools.
- take the TerrorWeb Queen quest from the Reaper of the Spawning Pools, easy quest. Everyone can take this quest at the same time.
- take reward from the Reaper of the Spawning Pools. (4 complete)
5. Complete the Imprisoned Spirits Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Chaos Planes.
- head to Bone Pits, clear Bone Pits and spawn the Reaper of the Bone Pits.
- do NOT take the Imprisoned Spirits quest yet. Send all but 1 from your team to the TerrorWeb spawn point, the bridge area on entry to Bone Pits. See picture below.
- take the Imprisoned Spirits quest from Reaper of the Bone Pits, easy quest.
- kill 3 spawns of 3 TerrorWebs.
- take reward from the Reaper of the Bone Pits. (5 complete)
6. Complete Wraithful Spirits Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Labyrinth.
- take no quests.
- head to Forgotten Vale, clear Forgotten Vale, kill graspings before dryders around the statue to spawn the Reaper of the Forgotton Vale.
- clear out coldfires and stalkings behind the reaper, easily done.
- take quest Wraithful Spirits from Reaper of the Forgotten Vale, easy quest. Everyone can take this quest at the same time.
- take reward from the Reaper of Forgotten Vale. (6 complete)
7. Complete Escort of Souls Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Labyrinth.
- take the Escort of Souls quest from Reaper of the Labyrinth, easy quest. Everyone can take this quest at the same time.
- teleport to the Reaper of the Forgotten Vale.
- head back to the Reaper of Labyrinth killing mindblades etc.
- get New Souls and walk them to the mayor.
- teleport to the Reaper of the Labyrinth, take reward from Reaper of Labyrinth. (7 complete)
8. Complete Unwanted Guests Quest
- take the Unwanted Guests quest from the Reaper of the Labyrinth, semi-easy. Everyone can take this quest at the same time. Taking this quest will spawn 6 Keeper of Souls groups throughout the Labryinth.
- immediately teleport to the Reaper of the Forgotten Vale.
- back track and kill first Keeper of Souls Group in the Labryinth.
- teleport to the Reaper of the Ice Wastes from Reaper of Labyrinth.
- back track and kill the rest of the Keeper of Souls Groups (this is tedious).
- take reward from the Reaper of the Labyrinth. (8 complete)
9. Complete Demon Assassin Quest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Chaos Planes.
- back track to the twin serpent mountains.
- work your way to the Reaper of the Twin Serpent Mountains.
- kill dryders last.
- take the Demon Assassin quest from Reaper of the Twin Serpent Mountains, easy quest. Everyone can take this quest at the same time.
- kill the demon assassin and 2 Keeper of Souls groups. Keeper groups can be slow in coming.
- take reward from the Reaper of the Twin Serpent Mountains. (9 complete)
10. Complete Restore the Monuments Quest and open the Underworld Chest
- teleport to the Reaper of the Labyrinth.
- take reward for Restore the Monuments quest from the Reaper of the Labyrinth. (10 complete)
- open Underworld Chest.
That concludes the guide. It is somewhat concise. There are many little details and suggestions that can be added. I will leave that for experienced players to contribute.
Good Luck,

QQ:
How long do you think it will take with in-experienced players?
Are consumables necessary?
Does doing it in HM affect your chest drop/ ecto drop rate?
And how long would this take in HM?

Good fun.
nightwatchman
Excellent guide. Just did it with guildies and had no real problems. Most of us were first timers in UW for everything except smite/village runs. Took about 3 hours.
Draccor The Great
Nice guide but Obby Tank isnt a real need.
We run 2 ursan tanks 2 eles 1 ss necro and 1 SB monk 1 HB monk and 1 Glimmer Infuse.
The ursan tanks run W/M with 20vs ele at 13 str I'm unstopable physical resistance mantra of flame sig of stamina ether sig and res. First weapon set is +5 armor all time +5 energy on your weapon shield +30hp and +10vs Fire. Second weapon Staff with +20 or more energy.
With Mantra of flame and all the extra armor you have you can(and I have) stand in 27 meteor hits and only be taking 10 to 20 dmg each time.
Heres how we do it(the fourhorseman) one ursan to south with glimmer infuse and ss necro. South is an easy pinch point so we take less ppl there.
The rest is at the north cause its a smaller pinch point.
On souht side the ss necro gets 3 to 4 ss's off then goes to north side to help eles. The ursan can kill whats left on south side.
I always tank the south side and am usually done with all dryders and mesmers b4 the north side thanks to a good bunch up and the ss's.
Takes about 4 mins to clear the quest completely.
After that you are free to do the rest of the areas.
Spawning pools ursan gets SB and pulls as much that will pull at one time. The second ursan comes up to a meeting point and holds them. 4 Glyph of renewal nukes and 3 ss's there pretty much dead while we have been hit with about everything except the kitchen sink. Its kinda fun to watch the meteor count go up and your still alive after they all dead. Oh and SoA and spirit bond FTW.
We complete the UW Clear in 2 hours 3 mins was our fastest run so far thats in HM. 1 Hour 40 mins was our fastest in NM only cause we pulled every smite on the map and found out they like to go around the tanks lol.
I dont remember all the builds for all chars but you can Im me in game and Ill tell you what they are.
Have fun good luck.

P.S We will be doing a run tonight Ill take a screenie of the meteors on the ursan tank and dmg he takes.
