windwalker or randiant insignias? help me decide!

hello, i cant decide whether to use windwalker insignias for armor or radiant insignias for energy on my derv's armor. please tell me what u think i should pick and why.

Health insignia because:
a) energy cap is irrelevant if you can manage energy and does nto help att all if you cant
b) quite a mount of dervish skills get better with higer health
c) windw. is conditional armor, and to get get best of it you need 3 enchants which gimps your build and you can get same effect with one enchant and conviction stance, but even then, tanking is baed.

hm... i see ur point zwei2stein. ok so winw. is probably not a very good option so that leaves energy or health insignias. i dont really understand wat u mean by a) though - im pretty new to dervs and i find it hard to manage my energy. Im using zealous renewal too and its not helping much.

What i mean that if you have problems keeping energy up, having several extra energy points will only allow you to use one extra skill per encounter ... the longer fight is the less you get from radiant.
If you on the other hand get decent energy engine going, your energy will be stable around say 15 points throughout combat, your energy cap ceases to matter as you wont benefit from it at all.
You only need high energy if your combo is very costly (say, 3x10 energy skills in row which would be impossible to do with 25e cap), but you can achieve that by having, i.e. +5e weapon or even staff on swap slot, which is much easier change throughout combat.
Zealous weapon is good start, you can figure out some build that can manage energy well too.

zwei2stein, by having a bigger base energy you can afford to put up more costly enchantments prior to fighting. Switching to a + energy staff means you'll end up with 0 energy for a while; i'd rather roll in and throw out the attack skills straight away.
I use windwalker on chest (as you get hit there most) and then radiant on all other pieces.

In PvP I actually use blessed insignias, because I usually do have at least one enchantment, and for 1-2 enchantments it is equal to or better than WW. WW really only helps if you're heavily enchanted, which you probably won't be if you're aiming for a high damage output.
HP is another possibility, although 40 HP really isn't that much. +10 armor means you can take just under 20% more damage before dying, while 40 HP is closer to 8%, but does work against armor-ignoring damage, unlike armor.

I use Radiant on chest/legs, Survivors on the rest. I like being able to Wearying something in the face straight after Mel, tyvm. And +5e scythes make me feel like a retard, +15% damage is huge on a scythe.

Well I have 3 armor sets:
1st with Radiant on chest and rest with Forsaken (Mel/Lyssa non-enchantments builds).
2nd with Radiant on chest, Windwalker on the rest (e.g. VoS build, heavy enchantments builds, Wounding Strike build).
3rd is a Radiant on chest and legs with Survivor on the other parts.

In PvE any of them will work. Personally I went with the windwalker insignias for a long time and now use Radiant.
I normally had three or more enchants on me while in combat (two or so from myself, plus things like Aegis or Prot Spirit) so it mitigated more damage than I got from the +HP insignias. Since I didn't use the few skills that require you have more health than you opponent I had no need of that and even then I found the +hp insignias to be less effective than +armor once I started taking any type of damage (if not taking damage I tended to have more health anyway due to the +30 inherent in our armor).
But then I realized that pretty much anything worked - the places where either the +hp or +armor helped me live if I had a little more energy then I had a skill that did the same thing (and usually better) and places where it didn't make a difference then this added another another attack sill spam or two.
So, in the end I find that Radiant insignias to be "best" in PvE. I don't PvP, however I can very well see why that wouldn't be the case by looking at standard PvP builds. Though I will not give my opinion as it is very weak (not being much of a PvP'er).
But, again, pretty much any of it works so I wouldn't worry too much over it.
