hi,

well i was wanting a run to droks - and there was a guy advertising a run from beacons to droks for 1.5K - pay at end.

so i entered his group and 2 others (same guild mates who ran with him - got me a bit suspicious but theres nothing really wrong with doing that). anyways at the end - he said "pay up" and i offered him 1.5K. He said "no the price was 3K..."

i quoted him on what he said before he just said "dont try to scam me... you just changed the 3K to 1.5K...". ofcourse i realised why his guildies with him - Bullies can only be bullies when they got two goons beside them :S and they said i shall be reported to Anet for scamming...he kept opening up the trade chat and i offered him 1.5K insisting that is what he offered. Eventually - they just kept saying that i will be reported, in which case i was fed up and just left (trying 6 times to give him the money just didnt work and i had places to go to :S). they kept whispering to me that im going to get banned - and i just eventually logged out.

Well now im quite worried because i may have not one but 3 people reporting me - hence would Anet listen to them? i dont think i did anything wrong and i left because i got fed up of trying to give them the requested money.

am i at fault here for leaving? or should i report them? technically the runners did get me to where i wanted to go..therefore i cant deny the service they did

Anet will not do anything based on someones word. They will check chat logs and if what you say is true and the runner said 1.5k then you shouldn't have a problem. That is if Anet even care.

Nothing will happen, even if the guy said 3k, nothing will happen to you.

Hopefully you have screen caps where they said 1.5. If so, you can send that if Anet does ban you.

sadly this kind of crap will always happen.... I wouldnt be leary of guild-mates running however... at least with most of the guilds Ive been in; that kind of stuff will get you kicked from a guild (for making them look bad)

hope ya get better luck today

First of all, a.net won't ban people for scamming on runs. Even if he had said 3k and you where lying, you still wouldn't have been banned.
In fact, for falsely reporting (if they do), those 3 are more likely to be banned then you.

Nothing will happen.

Also - ignore exists for a reason.

If they decide to report you, they need the time and place of the supposed scam. Anet can pull the chat logs if they desire and will see that they are the scammers in this case. Don't worry about a thing.

Anet doesn't ban for people skimping out on the bill anyway.

It's why I don't run people anymore.

Also, I see it being an empty threat. They're not going to care too much if you saw through their scam. If they try to report you, they risk having Anet find out about the scam themselves. They were probably just trying to scare you.

What you should have done is screened them whispering you and reported them as griefers and harassing you.

Yeah, if this ever happen to you again, and they don't stop harassing you. It's you who can report them for harassment.
