You're in Hard Mode doing wondrous things with your skill set. That high-level creature finally succumbs to the onslaught of your party and releases a prize just for you. It's... an event ticket?!
What is this?
The event ticket (or scroll, parchment of events past, whatever you want to call it) would be a drop that gives the player a random weekend bonus to benefit from.
Time duration and usage
The ticket would have a 5-hour duration, to be spent only when the player wishes to do so. It would have to be activated in a combat area (by double-clicking) for the available time to start counting and the player to benefit from the bonus. Deactivating the ticket would happen by double-clicking a second time, by leaving a combat area or by leaving the game.
Validation
An event organizer (NPC) could be available in main cities to validate/customize the ticket so that only a specific player may use it. EXTRA: An event organizer could also inform a player of the time and duration of seasonal events (wintersday, halloween, canthan new year, etc).
Tradable
While a ticket isn't validated/customized to a player, it could be traded.
Party-wide benefit
A player with a validated ticket could invite others to his/her party so that others could also benefit from the bonus.
Bonus limits
Bonuses should not be stackable. Only one event ticket should be able to get activated in a group at the same time. The event ticket should not be used in a weekend that has the same kind of bonus.
Why an event ticket?
Especially for players that cannot participate in a weekend event (for various reasons).
Others that you may think of. Or you might disagree with this entirely? The thread is open to discussion!

You mean like a ticket that makes the monsters drop easter eggs even if you are not in easter?

So, basically, you're saying these tickets would allow a party to get the benefit from double skill cap xp, double faction, double alliance faction, double fame and so on? An interesting idea, but they'd have to be a very rare drop so as not to ruin the actual weekend event.

It's an interesting conundrum- they would have to be rare enough as to not devalue the weekend events, yet not rare enough to only be available to the "zOMG 1000 ectos!!!!1!" crowd.
/signed if that is possible.

Conundrum. Good word and it sums up how I feel about it. Every time I went skill capping or playing AB, doing anything in game really, I'd be wishing I had one of these because then my time spent doing said activity would be cut in half, presuming I am doing it for a title not merely for fun. I already think this way sometimes as it is while I am doing those activities even without an item like that in game. Some titles take too long, why am I doing this, etc. If tickets were in the game then I'd always want the appropriate ones. Always. Means more to buy and also means more to farm. It would also be challenging to balance rarity vs event weekend schedules, as mentioned.
/not signed. I personally dont want something in game that is always going to be making me think "I'm wasting my time - I should have [xxx] Ticket" should I not have it or be unable to afford it.
