So the other day I had this bright idea: what if there were PvP dungeons? At first I thought that would be ridiculous for a number of reasons: the PvP engine isn't set up that way, loot wouldn't make sense.
But then I said, "Would it be different from EotN dungeons?"
The practical answer is Yes. However, picture a PvP map based on Sorrow's Furnace. Six teams, each with a "boss". The victor (probably an elimination game) would get to keep their location, and their members would too. After the match 5 other teams join the game, etc.

Not sure if this could even work, but I'd like to hear some opinions on this.

Kinda like HA? Except you get to give 1 person on your team super overpowered boss status. HA is already an elimination style pvp.

You mean like the 'Hulk' game mode in Quake. A character enters with much ore HP, armor and attributes, and it's alone and the others have to kill him?

Haha, that's exactly what I'm talking about!
This would be different from HA, though. I'm thinking larger maps... more teams... etc.

i wouldn't mind seeing a PvP based game on a PvE based map. I can imagine how you mean. Do not make the "Boss" overpowered or anything, just a bit of extra HP and your team will know also who to keep alive.

More or less like a VIP gamemode. And this can be built upon as well. To prevent Bosses from hiding or something, there would be a restriction so the team can only gain points while the Boss is in range of them. etc. etc. and just like in HA at the end a Chest can spawn and you can get some leet loot :P

sounds like it could be fun, but maybe make the boss a NPC - like the ghostly.
otherwise imagine the arguments if someone who was the boss died and someone else in the party thought they could have survived.
IMO - teams of 6 + boss (NPC) and it could be really successful, although if not done correctly it could easily fail.
