I have a question cause this is really makeing me mad. I have been in several missions and UW runs makeing good time and we have an update. OK all the sudden i freeze and crash.

Now my group is (being only tank) messed up. When there is an update and we crash or freeze why can you not have an option to rejoin your group and skip the update at that time only.

All you would have to do I think is put in the option of which direction you go on the server instead of pointint to new updated server.

We just had 1 hour 45 mins of game play in uw and 2 ppl crashed and because of the update couldnt rejoin our party.

Group lost Sb monk and Main Tank everyone had to quit.
In last 3 weeks this is 4th time this has happened just not me but others in my group.

True but when you contact support you often feel your a single voice speaking to the void.

Many people experiencing the same problems may or may not contact support.
With great forums like these you encourage others to speak out leading to lots of supportive replies that you know arenanet will see.

What sort of crash is it? Does the game just freeze and the sound loops repeatedly? If so, then support are a total waste of time. I've been in contact with them for months and because they couldn't figure out why I, and loads of others, were experiencing this problem they started to ignore me!

You'd get a better answer from a bunch of retarded monkeys than you would from the support for this game!

Me niether. This sounds really odd to me as the only negative effect I have ever experienced when there is a new update while I was in-game was that it blocked entry into the next round during Random Arenas. In PvE its fine; ignoring the fact that the message is spammed.

Maybe I posted wrong my Intent was to see if anet could maybe look into putting in some kind of catch so if there is an update when you are in a long mission, and you happen to lagg out you can get back with your group.

We had been in UW for about 1 hour 20 mins when the new build came out.

I then lagged out froze nothing to do with new build but when i reconnected it made me take the new build throwing me out of UW and my group.

They should have an option comeup for when that happens to take new update or dont take new update so you can get back in with your group.

I figured I would post here and see if enough ppl had same issue and maybe anet would look at it.

Okay I see your point now. By lagging out and crashing you are unable to reconnect because the update resets the location of your character.
But however, new updates are not supposed to cause the game client to crash in anyway or so I believe. So theres something definately wrong there which i have no idea.

With updates, sometimes they are implemented to fix a bug or expliot in the game. For example (some time ago) there was an update where it fixed some axe that was giving 40% longer enchantments was needed to balance out the game. So if your asking if people could choose to download an update or not, I would say no and no doubtly anet would say no because of possible expliots.

I was in the same group as Draccor the Great. We had just cleared the Chaos Planes and were getting ready for the Four Horsemen quest. He crashed so now we were down to 7 players. Then one of the monks crashed as we were preparing to try the quest with 7 players. Now down to 6 players. Neither one could get back in leaving the 6 of us doomed to failure. And I might add that all of us considered it a waste of time because of losing 2 players

Seeing that this is for the casual gamer and many people have limited time it should be considered to let people back into an instance if they have crashed without taking an update. If enough people get frustrated at this ANet can possibly lose future revenue.

It would be a nice feature - the same sort of thing happened to me once - but I doubt that it would ever be implemented for the reason Pucca gave. Which would be that people could purposely "crash" (pressing reset on your computer will do) so that they could continue to use some exploit over and over. That wouldn't matter all that much as far as an Axe mod is concerned, but what if it involved a bug that drops lots of free gold or something.
At any rate, if it's a simple thing to do, perhaps ANet could do it for certain types of updates, but I doubt that the number of times it would be useful would be worth the trouble/time it would take.
