According to the update at the Guild Wars website, this change affects rangers: Player Pets: no longer leave exploitable corpses.
Of all the possible asinine things they could have done, they picked this! Some changes made for a natural balance, but this one just boggles the mind and leads me to conclude one thing: players who don't use the monk, ranger or necro class in Tombs, likely warriors were whining because they are excluded from BP groups.
Sins and Eles have usable builds they can run in Tombs.
It's not like there are only three classes that can be worthy here. There are plenty of classes that get excluded from specific-purpose group or certain players get kicked out of groups because they don't have the skill needed to work with the intent of the group.
I can understand why undead and "ghost" corpses are not exploitable, I mean, they were dead to begin with. But pets? These are considered fleshy like the players themselves. It makes no sense to change something that has been a key part of the game for more than 2 1/2 years.
Skill changes are sometimes warranted because skills may be under or over powered and this would unbalance the game.
But this change to pets just doesn't work! Why? Anet has changed a VERY basic part of the game, something that's been around since pre-searing. This change affects anyone with a pet and is far too drastic to be taken in stride. This completely destroys the BP group for Tombs as well as for other areas.
I am truly sadden as Ranger was my first class over two years ago.
And all this happened because some people couldn't accept that they weren't taken into a group on the basis of their class. This is a fact of life in GW, if your class is not needed for the group, whining and being a n00b won't change it.
Though they seem to think that increasing the damage for Barrage will help offset the change but it completely affects all builds that use the pet, especially the beast master build. If anet is going to make it an unexploitable corpse, they should have redesigned it so that when the pet dies, there is no skill recharge.

This particular change has nothing to do with PvE.

You don't B/P in Tombs do you?
I highly doubt there's such a lack of bodies in PvP that you require pets to die, the rangers to lose their skills for 10 secs just for some minions.
This reeks of PvE nerfing, just like the solo trapper spirit nerfs.

And as a side-note I'm STILL waiting for the supposed PvP exploit of pet corpses. No one has been able to give even a potentially viable exploit.
