Mass Korean Bannings.
Yarly
Well as many of the korean players have probably noticed a large proportion (Not all i think). Have had there accounts perm ban in the last 48 hours including mine.
Ive had my account un-banned once already, but it was quickly banned again about 4 hours later which was frustrating.
From what i hear from friends its been a big Anet screw up and that they are working to fix it. Just wondering if any other koreans have had any progress with there accounts in the last 24 hours?

How did they know you were Korean? I'm 1/4 Finlander, do you suppose I'm in jeopardy?

Vulkanyaz
His account would be Korean, they wouldn't go and check which nation everyone was born in :P
I'm quite interested as to why this is too, though I imagine it was a screw-up... if it was done on purpose then WTF? Now if you say "but they were bots!" then I'm sure the OP can clarify he isn't a bot (lol) and that if they banned bots then they would have said that instead of

wonder if there is another loop hole like the one posted a few weeks back where the guy could turn himself into a GM and disconnect people etc.
Vulkanyaz
You mean error 07?
Yarly
Nope, at around 8pm korean time we all got err7, and when we attempted to log back in, it was code=045 perm ban. And this has nothing to do with bots or any other form of exploit, gvg'ers, ha'ers including some r13 people were also banned. It was some error on Anet's behalf, as many people have called in to korean ncsoft to find out the problem.
Im not so worried about it, if it is what anet say it is, they it will be resolved, just pain in the ass. Im just discussing it rly, while we wait for news.

i heard that it wasnt anets screw up it was some chinese company called "the9" ?
Hobbs
the9 only operates in China. They were responsible for a problem there but I don't think it was their fault that this happened in Korea, unless Anet/NCSoft is follwing their example?

Yarly
No, Chinese "the9" handles GW for China. All Korean matters for GW go through guildwars.kr.
crazybanshee
Just out of curiosity... what did Anet say it was? Whatever it was, that really stinks and I hope all the legitimate players get their accounts back soon.
Yarly
They haven't issued any statement yet, but the korean support have stated that it is a problem they are aware of. Im sure its just a routine server fault like usual.
Lil Ferk
Well what everyhappened i hope u get ur account back
pamelf
Wow,that would be a total pain in the ass. Best of luck with getting the accounts back.

Holly Herro
I had my account perma banned once since it got key-logged and the key logger said some bad stuff in alliance chat. So once I got my password and stuff back, I was banned, so I had to email Anet again. It's really annoying trying to get it back.

I'm closing this thread - unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this. We have no control over banning's, the information about it, etc. You would need to bring this up with Guild wars support and discuss it with them
