I have just completed all 25 missions on Prophecies & want to purchase Guild Wars: Factions, but I want to use my existing Prophecies character on factions. Is there anything I need to do to be able to do this or do I just go ahead & purchase Factions?
I bought Prophecies off PlayNC.com if that makes any difference, I didn't buy the CD version.
Thanks.
How Do I Use My Existing Prophecies Char On Factions?

Just add the factions cd key to your existing account at the log in screen so that you link the two games together. There is a quest in Lion's Arch that I think you get from First Watch Sergio, you step outside and talk to Mhenlo and follow his instructions and you will end up in factions at the marketplace.

If you buy Factions from the online store, I believe it will apply it to the account you are using. If not, make sure you choose the option to add the key to your existing account. If you buy Factions from a regular store, on the login screen there is a link that says something like "add or modify access codes." Click that and add the key to your existing account.
Once you do that, then you can the quest Mhenlo's Request from Lionguard Sergio (the skills guy by the exit) and completing that quest will take you to Factions.
FYI, you get Imperial Commendations as a quest reward sometimes. 5 of those will get you a Superior Salvage kit that would otherwise cost you 2,000 gold to buy. If you decide to sell the commendations instead, make sure you get a fair price.

since you had no problems buying prophecies online, i would do as blade suggested and buy it through the online store. you log into your account, where you select your characters in the top right corner it says "enter guild wars store" or something like that. you already have a plaync account so you can just pay for the game, it will get added automatically to your account and you don't have to worry about accidentally not connecting the two games.
