Id say swords.. Stick to it and in the long run you reap greater rewards... Axe can be good for single hit high damage... but swords tend to be more consistant... you know what your gunna hit.. umm.. 100 blades and triple chop are both bad... well Triple chop is alright if your using an axe.. theres no axe DS equivelant.. If your going for high consistant damage use dragon slash build.. Also with ds builds you can support your team.. Wy or Sy work nicely.. also perma Kd with Brawling Headbutt... but generally.. its personal preferance.. my dib on sword tho .

That's highly true, but don't give up on Axe, its still king of PvP and still far from useless in PvE.

For sword, make sure you partner Dragon Slash with Flail and "For Great Justice!" and throw in an adrenaline shout like "Watch Yourself!" or (better yet) "Save Yourselves!"

It makes Destroyers cry.

hmmm...you know the thing where axe has more dps than swords at 11 mastery and higher? this is with no skills straight up damage right?

axes are still really useful in pve since they have some really good area attacks which swords seem to lack, unless if you take HundredBlades, but then you don't get Dragon Slash or Quivering Blade....

Dragon slash = godmode in PvE. Axes don't come close.

Triple chop isn't bad, it's just not as balls-tighteningly awesome as dragon slash.

Hundred blades is terrible though, stop using it. The only times I've gotten value out of it is by running it with a splinter weapon and a conjure on a hero.

Its completely personal preference, there are fanboys for each, but there are skills and items for both that make them better in their own respects.

definitely sword!
why? because a wyvern blade looks nice with that armor

no one runs one build all the time anyway so get an axe and hammer as well

Look at "Save Yourselves!" and Brawling Headbutt, then come back and ask that.

Swords > All in PvE. Simple truth.

It makes the rest of my party immortal. The other sword elites are shite by comparison, especially 100 blades *shudders*

Simple fact.. Dragon slash + Brawling Headbutt + Sy = U83R L33T G0DM0D3.

Why?? Enduring Harmony + Fgt + Dragon Slash = 30 second L33t adren gain...

Dragon Slash + Brawling Headbutt = Spammable Knockdown.

Dragon Slash + Brawling Headbutt + SY = +100 armor to all allies, Spammable Knockdown, Amazing Damage.

FACT!

In PvE I prefer running sword. You want a high DPS, and no axe build can give you more DPS then a dragon slash build. With a dragon slash build you can also keep enemies knocked down until they're dead (FGJ + Dslash + Brawling Headbutt) and you can also keep up Save Yourselves! for a good part.

I noticed axe does more dps to lower armour people, actually i tihnk everyone knows that all ready, but I think that's cool since many enemies you face are like armour 75 and lower.

I think all 3 warrior weapons are on par with each other. Its down to what u like to wield. DS is very good in pve but that does not rander hammer or axe less effective or useful. If DS is as good as what so many people think, it should have been nerfed long ago like the other unbalanced skills.

it just seems numbers are higher when hitting casters with axe, maybe due to lower armour and the range of dmge an axe does (it kinda makes sense rlly), but it seems higher.

Just to clarify.

When hitting a foe with 60armor with an Axe vs a Sword.

IF both attacks result in critical hits then the axe, witch has a higher dmg rating, will deal more damage.

However the same is true regarless of the armor of the target, ie at 100armor a crit hit from an axe deals more dmg than a crit from a sword.

The average dmg however is more equal, the sword deals more constant damage, ie the same numbers with a small variance(1-5 or there about) and the axe has a much larger range dealing both higher and lower amounts of damage in each hit vs the sword(1-15 or there about)

If you never critical on a hit then the sword will deal more damage in the long run. As the number of critical hits increases the amount of damage of the axe begins to catch up and pass that of the sword.
