We at Guru are constantly trying to improve our forums, and make the guests and members feel that they can get a lot of great information from our site.

We are looking for someone to start a Guide on how to play this class (for a beginner, or intermediate player). If the person makes the guide, it will be informative, have a few example builds, and help newer players learn how to play this class!

Please note: This sticky is in every class area in Campfire.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAKING A STICKY FOR US....
-Contact me, and tell me your idea. I will not be checking every area of the forums for people interested.
-Send to me your copy, and if it gets the seal of approval, it will be the new Guide Sticky of "insert profession here". Your name will be forever on these forums, as the king of that profession!

So if your interested, contact me and tell me your idea for this profession. I look forward to your responses! And remember, the person who makes the Guide gets their name up there as a sticky, until the Guide is obsolete.

Thanks, and good luck to those wishing to embark on this task!

Alright, first off, I wasn't the one who contacted you to make a guide. In fact I'm not even asking anyone in particular. We are looking for someone to make a decent assassin guide, may that be you or anyone else we appreciate your help to our community.

I know I'm doing my part, and I know I'm not doing a half-assed job. Besides, this isn't a job for me, its a hobby, and I volunteer everyday to close, manage , and help make Guru a viable place for information as any. And thus, this sticky.

Do I have time to make an ultimate guide for every profession? No, and even if I did I'd have to research up on half to provide as good as information as a player who has that as their primary profession.

Thanks.

It just be better if a couple people got together and said.

Alright lets do this, this and this.
Add this in the guide etc.

Having 1 view makes it not as good as it can be (Even if its by a super awesome sin >.>) as it had things from 1 person.

Have you seen the new monk guide?

Having a guide written by one person is not a bad idea. Said person just needs to be objective and provide options, alternatives, and general advice on how to play the profession.

i've already written a beginner's guide to assassins..... 1.5 years ago. it's buried somewhere in these forums, and badly needs an update. otherwise, it will still function well enough for this purpose.

edit: here it is http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...light=assassin
it's a lot worse than i thought it was :S
someone should update it for NF and recent skill balances.

I might volunteer for this if I get the spare time. Is it basically just for what the 'Sin can do and how we do it (but more refined, of course), that sort of thing?

My idea was:

Discuss all skills one by one, giving tips on how to use them

Do's ( such as, bring multiple sets ) and don'ts ( don't use multiple sup runes )

Some standard builds

Equipment choice

Maybe a video tutorial

Maybe something about pvp awareness " how to choose your target " and pve pugging " don't tank, but make sure your backline is safe "

or if you can't do that

"Always take a healer hench: they'll hate you and you'll drain their energy, but at least THEY won't complain about it"

Individual skills....... that would be much more hard to go in detail with the assassin than other classes when it comes to the dagger line =P

I'd put little mission F.A.Q's for the class such as what to bring as support if your h/h it.
Things to do in AB >.>
Things to try out....if I was writing it and had the time =P

Yeah dagger combo's would be a pretty large topic.

If guides were to be made, they should be made accordingly to their setting. Make a PvE sin guide, and a PvP one, since they're completely different. Maybe add in some subcategories, such as casters, daggers (spike or pressure builds), other martial weapons, etc.

Thing is, nobody will be mad enough to do all of that, and even if he/she would do it, the overall quality won't automatically be good.
I suggest we team up and do a joint effort: each picks a category, makes a mini-guide and sends it through to some of the others to check it (peer review). Then we just put up the amalgame here and go grab a drink together at the tavern in Kaineng.
