My mate reformated his computar correctly and now his back ethernet and usb ports dont work, its almost as if the computer doesnt know they exsist, no problem signs on plug in, its almost as if we never plugged anything in, also his local area connection doesnt exsit in the network connections, just his wireless and 1394. I think this all suggests that the motherboard hasnt got the right drivers installed for it, the rest of the pc works fine and the front usb ports work.

If it is a driver problem, may i have a site where i can find the right drivers (sorry dont have his computer spec right now) and if its anything help, i would appreciate it if you would help?

If the computer is made by a major brand distributor (Dell Gateway etc) go to their site and search for drivers for USB and ethernet. Otherwise check the manufacturer of the motherboard for drivers. Also possibly network card manufacturer if he uses a card instead of it being built into the motherboard.
