Is it possible to run this mission? I've heard claims that contradict each other, and I want to make sure before I sign up for a "run" (yes, I know I'm lazy). I just got scammed twice today from people who claimed to be able to "run" the mission and I really don't want it to happen again...

Considering that Shiro and the Lich are easily defeated by pulling to the gate and Spoil Victor, the whole difficulty in the mission is getting to the temple. Any half decent hero build would be able to win with the two monks and the motivation paragon in tow, leaving one plum spot for a bookah.
Not that I have any idea what these "runners" are running.

i never had the mission run for me, but i've seen people offering so i don't think it is a scam, just don't pay up front. (personally, [skill]spoil victor[/skill] owns shiro and just work down lich and trigger all the shrines and it is an easy mission)

If people won't agree to run if they're not paid up-front it's more than likely a scam.
If people will work out with you a payment process (this amount here, here, and at the end or whatever) it's more than likely a touch safer..
But scamming unfortunately happens, it's a risk one has to take with being ran.

It cannot be run. They can do it for you while you stand around but that's not running.
But running is being used a lot in very loose terms, so basically they are offering you to do the mission for you as it is possible to do it with 7 without problem and number 8 can just stand around and do nothing. But they will have to fight their way through since there is no choice.
Elona Reach or Sanctum Cay are missions that are being run. There you can speak of running.
But then people will run the last mission/quest in GWEN for you which means a 55 type monk does the fight for you...so not really running but it's the term people use for it.

It's possible to run (complete, kill shiro, etc, with bonus) it, either with the group helping, or with H/H alone.
I used to do it all the time for 30-60k per player.

I had someone run this mission for my dervish once. He took 3 heroes too, and it cost 10k. He killed Lich, ran back to us, collected the cash, then ran back and killed Shiro. So I guess certain people can run it. Which is good for me, I hate that mission. hehe

Shiro is very easy .. at begining i think its one of the hardest mission on NF ,
its easy .
Take Hero SS,MM,SV , very good skill is empathy (mesmer) , but .. shiro take of all conditions and hex .. .. im a mesmer i use echo + empathy double .. when he take of i put again and he do by self ~300dmg onetime ..
wery quick and fast, very nice skill is Pain Inverter, only after that when shiro take of all conditions and hex.
MM is useful for bonus .. because shiro allways attack on Flesh Golem
if u fail 3 - 5 times with hex, shiro can kill all ur party in 30-50sec .. sometimes the shiro have 50hp and u fail with SV,SS or empathy .. they can kill all party, then the mision and bonus is lost :P
dont fail in hex , watch the hex on shiro all the time , work with hero .. !!

Yes, people run them and you can either go afk or help them in the fight. The mission should run approximately 7k not more. The legit runners usually want their money at the end of the mission or they might ask for a portion upfront but not all. So, if they ask for the money upfront don't do it.

You got scammed twice, my advice is to try again, maybe you get scammed a third time!
I call it the scrub risk. You are a scrub, you are totally depending on the good will of others to bring you through. Maybe getting scammed twice and seeing that some people can do this mission will make you try harder yourself.

The little shortcut to avoid the Shiro'kens works wonderfully.
Once you are in where the portals are, pull carefully. Also be advise that the portal are spawning points for Margonites.
Once all portal are down, get to the entrance door to where the shrines are. Kill the Leech and you can completly ignore Shiro. He will only get dangerous when his healt is 1/2 way down.
Once the Leech is dead you have 2 option, kill Shiro and get the mission over with or go for the bonus and capture the shrines.
If you go for bonus, still ignore Shiro and cap thoses shrines.

You might as well cap the shrines. It doesn't take that long, the Margonites guarding them aren't much of a threat, the bonuses will help in taking Shiro down, and it means you won't have to come back and do it over if you want Protector's.

Make sure you deal with the Lich first or keep him busy. He is as dumb as he is ugly.

Pain Inverter eases Shiro up a bit.

The most important thing is to stay outside while fighting. Bring only 1 mele with wild blow/strike/throw for braking stances and position him at the door. Position rest of characters so they can cast on Shiro/heal tank but far enough so Shiro can't reach them (he can't cross certain line). Bring Spiteful spirit, Spoil Victor, Pain inventer on different characters - Savannah heat (or other high damage ele spell) also help. Follow wiki instruction how to setup necro hero(s).
Take Leech down first (or don't go for bonus), because he hits much harder while you going for shrines. And running around shrines while Shiro follows you is fun - because he doesn't hit hard at all if you don't attack him.
I did this with H/H (with PuG we managed to kill Shiro but Leech got us while trying for bonus) and only Koss was killed once by Leech. My group was 2 necro heroes (1 ss, 1 sv), Koss with wild blow, 2 ele and 2 monk hench + me fire ele (savannah as elite) with pain inventer.

When I first tried this, I went H/H, then as I was closing the portals I started to get very bored. The task was easy with my Paragon, but I got too bored and I just quit. Didn't complete the mission, didn't even close off all of the portals.
The next time I tried with my Paragon, I got a free trial run from an Assassin. The Assassin didn't want anything because he/she has done it before with pure H/H, so adding 1 human to test out his/her abilities was her aim. I didn't just sit and watch, I participated by throwing my spears and running from harm's way. I wanted to see how to complete this quest. The assassin died several times, and I rezed him/her. Eventually we did it. I kinda felt that I was worst than a henchie, as the Assassin said he/she never died doing it H/H. As a result, I gave the Assassin 1k for his/her troubles, as a thank you. Like a tip, but more of a gesture of thanks.
Since then (now I know what I was up against and how to beat the mission), I've done it 7 other times in PUGs.
I can't run the mission, but I can help anyone who needs it. My Ranger (the only one left to do it) isn't there yet, but i have 8 other characters who can help out.
