Tweaking Drunkard

They re 167 hours doing almost anything else. And count a bonus of 30 hours, due to wrongly spent beverages.

i like it how it is. separates the "i have lots of money" people, aka sweet tooth from the people who are dedicated to Gw

I could get behind something like this...so /signed
As for the OP, I like the first 2 ideas so /signed again.
A little timer would be really really really really really nice (did I mention how nice it would be?).
Tender Wolf
/signed. I hate how you have to sit there and stare at your screen while the title slowly progresses, whereas Sweet Tooth you just double click and the points add right on. This needs to be changed. That way if someone wants to see their screen swirling around it's fine but if they don't they don't have to.
SleetDragon
I'm partial I really like the idea of the icon since they already use one for the sweet tooth so /Signed on that
The level increase wouldn't be so bad either might open them up to put more variety of drinks in the game lol, imagine characters in LA acting like bartenders XD. So a little /Signed on level increase on alcohol.
But I'm not sure about changing to points, its a grind yes, however isn't just about everything? Then you could say well Sweet Tooth uses points yes but, I consider Drunkard to be more impressive because of the dedication put into it. In fact I know an alliance member performing it right now and I give her all my alcohol as it is so... I dunno not entirely signed on changing to points yet sorry.
So:
/Signed for adding stuff to make a little easier
Unsure about changing title to points yet.

Icon is a great idea
/signed for the icon.
Doesn't make the title easier just less time waisting.

I had a similar idea.
/signed
The drunkard title in it's current form is one of the most boring to do.
1. Drink ale to reach level 5.
2. Switch to your internet browser and read some stuff or do something else.
3. Go back to the game and click on a drink.
Repeat this for a very long time.
Drinking while playing the game requires "too much micro" and all what you do is looking at your watch and don't play the game properly anyway.

It would be great to not have it be so tedious.

OK, bumping this because I was going to start my own thread, but I used SEARCH (oooh, wow!), and saw it was already posted. Basically, my idea is similar; hell, it's pretty much the same:
1) Allow for a higher level of drunkenness - something like 15-20 minutes, but keep the 'level 3 is drunk.' This allows for a greater freedom of being able to actually explore/vanquish/missions/whatever without having to have several windows open and concentrating more on when to double-click the next drink. Besides, who gets plastered and is suddenly completely sober in 5 minutes? Seriously.
2) Icon in the effects monitor. Yeah, the screen goes all crazy, but there's no way to know how much longer the drunk effect will last without timing it yourself. A simple icon with the little timer solves this, and combines well with #1 so that you don't have to concentrate on anything but what you're normally concentrating on while playing - what effects you have on you.
That's it. Now that we have skills that work only when drunk, alcohol actually plays a mechanical role, and as such should be more incorporated into the GUI and more user-friendly. I don't agree with changing the time limit required, or how the title is achieved, but just a way to make it, let's say, less of a hassle.

What arcanemacabre said. Both things are good.
Specially the drunkenness lasts more.
Whe have skills that change behavior while drunk, so the effect is much more needed, since drunkenness became 'part of the rules', like other conditions.
It could have an icon similar to the condition ones, but not being removable like the rest of conditions.

for the past four weeks I've been doin nothing but drinking and spending money for more drinks, and honestly, staring at that stupid title progress bar just to see another minute added starts to drive me insane.
Before any icons or whatever else will be introduced I'll prolly get my 10k mins, still:

I have stacks of alcohol in my storage but not the will power (nor the free time) to get the title
I wondered if Anet did it on purpose to make alcohol seem evil and a waste of life to the kiddies, but then they make skills that make you more powerful when your drunk so there goes that idea. Remeber kids your twice as strong when your drunk

No, no. Haven't you seen Jackie Chang's movies? http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Drunken_Master#Trivia
You have to drink the precise amount.
More is bad for the health. Less won't work for the skill.
Thinking about that... hm... maybe they could make so...
Drunken having 30 levels (Lasting 16 minutes if you get them all)
Levels 1,2 and 3: Nothing. There is a condition icon, but time do not counts for the title.
Levels 4..28: Drunk. Each minute counts. You have a leeway of 25 minutes of being drunk. After that time, it goes back to level 3 and do not count points. 25 minutes is more than enough to drink another 20 beers and go back to cleaning the house.
Levels 29 and 30: Severely Intoxicated (Would work like Crippling, Weakness, Dazing and Blindness at the same time) Again, time do not count under this third level of the condition.
Just like in the sequel: Too much: groggy; precise amount: kick ass.
The icon could change that way also. The border would be a condition border, and the image:
Levels 1,2: Hunter's Ale.
Levels 3..18: Flask of Firewater.
Levels 19 and 20: Human Liver. (XDD)
Hm... that gives the sense of 'do not drink too much' you mentioned.

Make it points system. Small amount of people know about the exploit system while others pain stakinly do 10,000 minutes. The exploit should have been fixed awhile ago or ban them for a new 117 poeple muhaha lol.

I would say at least 50% of the people who got their max drunk title botted to get it anyawys, so they can't really complain.

/signed to add an icon so we know how drunk we are. I'm doing it the old fashioned way (can't afford the zoning trick) and I'm just shy of 3k minutes drunk, but I know I waste a lot when I'm doing it because I get into a trade with someone or am fighting a huge group of enemies and look and see that my hero title shows that 3 minutes have passed, and I have no idea if it just clicked over or if it did it a while ago waste a lot that way. Please add icon, it doesn't take away from the people that already maxed it, nor the thought that a ton of time and money should be spent on it, just makes it easier to track.

I wrote myself a script to beep me every 3 minutes so I'd know when to drink which was good for a while, but between teamspeak and in game sounds, my brain now ends up filtering it out.

Signed, and to those saying it lessens the skill, there is no skill required staring at a screen for 16 days clicking on 2 ales every 2 minutes.
