System Specs:

AMD 64 Dual Core 4600+ Processor
2x GB 800 DDR2 RAM
GeForce 8800 GTX (768 MB)

The current video card in my system is creating a bottleneck on my processor, so I'm looking to take it out and consider alternatives to get the most out of my system.

I was looking at this:http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...2-A1&family=19

Would this create a major bottleneck on my system? If so, what do you guys recommend I get? I want to spend a little under $300.

Thanks.

If you really have 8800GTX graphics card, then you won't get anything muh better nowadays. GTX version is more powerful than GT. If you really want improve performance, then consider adding second GTX card to a SLI (that will eat another +200W)

Your CPU's the relatively slow part, and there's no need to get a slower video card because of that. You'll only end up with (slightly) worse performance in everything.

If you want to spend $300 to upgrade, why not upgrade the processor? The 6000+ is less $200. Going Intel is another option.

I'm honestly not trying to be rude, but do you actually know what it means for a part to be "bottlenecked"?

Exactly what game are you running (and under what settings), that you would believe for a second that the 8800GTX is insufficient? If you're talking Crysis, there isn't a consumer-level system that can get decent frames at high res with all the goodies on.

No need to run SLI, Guild Wars...actually no game that is currently out would justify running SLI with two of those cards. The games out now don't even make the 8800GTX break a sweat.

Except of course, as previously stated, Crysis :P

So you like to waste money to DOWNGRADE your PC? Get a new CPU, if anything.
