Suprising/happy parts of PvE

While waiting for a friend I decided to do a quest (forget what it was called) that in order to get to the mission area you had to fight through and there was a random boss Suli, not very hard. So as I walk away from the corpse 10 steps from going to the next zone to get to the quest area I see in the corner of my eye. "Suli's Scythe has dropped for" in green. I didn't even know he dropped anything. I went back and picked it up, very happy with myself that I took that quest.

Name some things you did in PvE that suprised you or made you happy.

Killed a foe got gold armor with +50 HP rune then open a chest next to him and got an armor with a +50 HP rune most profitable Sorrows Furnace run I ever had.

I was on a gold item run in Nightfall... you know the training island area. I forget the name of the place but its the sandy beaches and what not. I usually run all my characters over there to collect the gold items from the chests that are there. As I'm headed to one, I fight a group of skale and their boss who dropped a green axe. It was a good run.

I was drinking at home, got pretty wasted, so before going to bed I decided to cap a elite in the DoA (I tend to do that sometimes when bored), so I took my Rit, got my heroes + henchies, killed everything in my path and capped, only to see on the chat thingy, before I logged off (I always do that), that the Ravager of Dreams had dropped the Ravaging Daggers!! And, in a strange coincidence I had just started an Assasin. So I drank another beer and passed out!!!

Vanished Snake Dance, Dreadnought's Drift, Lornar's Pass in a bit more 3 hours... I think its will cost me 5? 7? 8? 10? hours... and a get a nice superior vigor too...

I was looking for all the treasure chests on my tank just for fun. Well the gold and item is pretty good but it's mostly for the experience of getting there.

So I went into the...... depths of madness? I believe, it's where that huge bridge made of souls is. And there were 3 groups of torment demons and margonites with a boss called fahralon the zealous. So I pulled Fahralons group and killed it and Fahralon drops his scythe which is pretty kickass with the 15% while enchanted.

Everything that happened before loot scale was implemented...since then getting glad r1 title and soon to be r2, 3 will take a while for me though lots of points to get and I don't play much anymore since they nerfed drops

A few weeks ago I tried to progress in Factions for getting the Black Moa Chick. I reached the point when you have to get 10,000 Kurzicks and I read that you could get quite a lot via the Factions PvP places. I'm not really good at PvP (and even intimidated by what I read) but I gave Fort Aspenwood a try (impossible to get an oponent in Jade Quarry). It was really a lot of fun!

That combined with Halloween's Costume Brawl made me want to try more PvP.

Oh and the Black Moa Chick was an awesome piece of PvE experience, I'll always remember going through SF's lava with my incubator, which was obtained by going to all these different places!

Reaching survivor for the first time...

Kinda off-topic, but I hope you'll allow a happy PvP moment in here....

My guild and I formed an HA team. Now, we're pretty new to the PvP scene. We fight about once a week and lose almost every fight, but in the process we're learning and that's what counts. We have 1 or 2 guys on our team that are pretty good. The rest of us are about average.

Well, one night we loaded up a decent build and set off for the Underworld fight. We actually won it too. Zoned to Fetid River and won there as well. WooHoo!!!! Next zone loads and it's the Hall of Heroes.

Uh Oh. Hall of Heroes?? Wayyy Cool. We're shouting over Alliance Chat that we're actually in HoH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then we see our opponents. CCCP and GWEN. Double Uh Oh.

Well it was a relic run, so when the gates opened we just started running relics like mad. Funny thing though. We don't see the other 2 teams. We run about 15-20 relics and no opponents. It turned out that the other 2 were off in a corner fighting each other and ignoring the poor little noobs that zoned in with them.

We won, 21-3-0.

Going god...nightfall is boring

Then I did Tihark orchard....and I had fun!

the that only prophecies existed i wanted to cap an elite on fire islands... a monster dropt a key and after i used it a r9 15^50 mursaat bow dropped for me out of the chest!

I ran my ele to grotto with hench, and i had no infused armor...once i reached grotto hours later with -60dp, it was the greatest feeling in my pve life, lol.

Getting a free run to Drok's out of the blue. My monk was just cooling her heels, selling some stuff at Beacon's Perch, when a Derv annouced he was giving a free run to Drok's. I needed max armor bad and so it was a godsend.

Another time it was finding a pug to do Gate of Madness. We did so good that we did all the quests and missions to beat NF together. We got masters too.

One time when our group was fighting Sunjiang District mission, right after finishing off 3 of the final 4 bosses, the entire team lagged out and got disconnected. The re-connect feature didn't work and there was nothing we can do.

However, when we finally able to got back on the next day, the mission was actually considered cleared !!

Somehow, Master Togo with his just recently nerfed [skill]Spirit Rift[/skill][skill]Spirit Burn[/skill] plus Mhenlo's mad skillz in [skill]Orison of Healing[/skill][skill]Heal Other[/skill] were able to fight and finish off the last boss just on their own... Masters completion even.

In the early times of Prophecies, I was doing my 4th attempt with my mesmer at THK with a PUG, when THK was still difficult.

We were fighting at the center, waves of enemies came, and we were doing rather good. In a moment of pause, I realized there was a chest just in the center where I was, and it happened I had a key which I normally don't have, so I opened and got a gold armor.
No time to identify, new waves of enemies arriving, but we resisted and eventually we completed the infamous mission.

When we arrived in Ember Light Camp, after the usual "gg" "gratz" and so on, I realized I had that gold armor, identified and woa superior absorption

For those who are relatively young in the game, in those times superior absorption was 100k at rune trader, I sold easily for 90k.

The fun thing is that 2 days later I opened with the same char a chest in RoF and got a second one, so 180k in just 2 days.


Anyway, I think that my mesmer is my lucky character, I don't use him much because my main is ranger, anyway a couple of days ago I logged and found the second birthay present, and it was ... water djinn :P

Starting the game and playing through Pre-searing for the first time is proberly the best but I have had a couple of green items randomly drop for me while I have been just traviling through areas.

I was helping my alliance with Hard Mode THK. We had just beaten Dorian when I spotted a chest just outside the gates. Opened the chest, Elite Necro tome.

Doing that mission in the RoF (Abaddon's mouth). We were doing the bonus (fighting our way from the prison door, but not opening it, to the ghost's resting place (which i think is similar to the bonus for Sanctum cay in a way)) but we killed a mursaat on the other side of the door and it dropped a black dye for me and I didn't even know. The leader of the team had the entire team break the seal to open the door just so i could get the dye, but still didn't free the ghost.
