Holiday promotion purchase question

Is a current Guild Wars account required to take advantage of the holiday promotion?

I've got a buddy who wants to start playing and the holiday promotion provides a great way to get more bang for his buck. But he doesn't have an account yet.

Obviously, one would need an existing account to purchase through the Guild Wars online store, but what about the PlayNC method? The PlayNC site seems to offer no clues. All I can find is the individual titles for sale - no mention of the promotion anywhere.

If anyone has successfully created a new account via a holiday promotion purchase, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

try getting a trial account from someone...then log into the GW store and purchase GWEN then the others. It might work. I would probably contact support and see what they have to say. [email protected] i think it is

Yeah, I was considering that. Was trying to hold on to my last buddy key, but it may be the only way.

Can't you buy the PvP pack (gives you access to pvp) without needing the whole game now?
I don't see why they wouldn't allow that too.

go to plaync site create an account there and buy what u wanna buy then go to www.guildwars.com and download the game then when game loads click options and imput the keys u got from plaync. and off u go
