It should be noted that the character on which I used this build had approximately rank 8 in fast casting ( I forget whether I was using the rune or not at this time ), and the recharge time is in fact 5 seconds, with a base casting time of 1. With arcane echo, and a staff with a 20% chance of halving the recharge time of spells, and the use of Celerity, it is quite easy to keep up the splinter weapons on multiple targets.
As to the other comment on touch skills, it is possible to see the flashes of light which indicate the triggering of splinter weapon, and these were regular, indicating that something was triggering them; whether it was indeed the ursan strike attack, or intermittent attacks made by the ursans in between their uses of the strike attack, is not clear. Either way, splinter weapon was firing during the runs and contributing to the damage.

It's easy enough spamming 1,2 and 3. Everyone can do this, and this is one of the main reasons why UB pugs fail 9/10 in any Elite area. Getting the right equipment and complimentary skills is something different. Thanks for the guide, much appreciated.

All the trashing and bashing aside, I've been using UB for a while, full radiant armor+ zealous scythe and axe. Works great and is fun for elite areas. I think it allows for more pugs to get together and succeed "9/10" times in elite areas. Thanks for the guide.

Having a single UB in your skill bar doesn't work well in a H/H situation and in general PvE settings.

No? So please elaborate, how I did last 3 missions in Nightfall with h/h + ursan r4 (it was before ursanways, people were just realizing how overpowered it is/was/will be) under and hour? All of them. Okay, maybe GoM was 30 minutes, so everything with few minutes of brake was hour and 20 minutes. Answer - because UB is good with 1 ursan, but even better with 5 or 6.
Btw, nice way to dig out a thread.

Btw, nice way to dig out a thread. I told ANet to limit PvE skills to only 3 per team so as to balance with H/H players but they refused. Their reason being that they want to encourage partying, so there you go, this is why Ursanway is overpowering. It is for the sake of encouraging partying.
Personally I dont find it that much more overpowering in H/H teams compared to a SF nuker or a SS necro.
