Where to now?

I just started GW last night, but what do i do know. ive been trying to tale those portal things to different islands but theirs nothing on the islands. Where can i get new quests and skills?

which campaign did you get last night? that would help a lot.
if it's proph, then you talk to a person in ascalon (he's by a gate) this will bring you out of ppre searing and into post searing, where you will really begin to start the game.
if it's factions, then you talk to a guy in a courtyard
and i don't know about nightfall because i don't have it

or, if you are just looking for new quests and skills and are in nightfall or factions, then you should be able to talk to a skills trainer

1. Talk to everyone with green exclamation mark above their heads.
2. Press L to see your quest log and select the quest under "Primary Quests". Completing it will advance storyline. Just follow that green arrow you see on your radar.

Sounds like he made a PvP character and is on the Battle Isles.
