I am soong going to be buying a PS3, and wish to install a linux distribution to it so that it replaces my senile 12yo PC. If I was to then install Guild Wars to the linux partition, would it run fully, if at all?
Cheers for any insight

Also, to protect Nvidia's corporate secrets and Sony's rule over the games that get released on the console there is no way to access the 3D hardware from PS3 Linux.
Don't hold your breath.
EDIT: Nvidia, not ATI. Silly me.

OK, thanks guys, sounds like I'll have to stick with this PC for GW.
in response to Sagilltwins: £600 will get me two PS3s, and at any rate, GW is the only game I really play on PC.

Edit:
I knew the RSX GPU was 'restricted' but I figured that such a powerful chip would be enough to play GW even tethered. Does anyone know how much hypervisor limits the graphics?

Yes, I made a slight typo in my previous post - meant to type Nvidia instead of ATI. Don't know what I was thinking

Note that even if Guild Wars would run on a PPC-style processor and could access the 3D hardware, the PS3's 512 megabytes of RAM are split evenly between the GPU and the CPU, leaving 256 MB for the CPU, of which approximately 200 MB will be left usable with the hypervisor and Linux system loaded. This is not enough to run even Guild Wars: Prophecies.
Guild Wars was made for PC's and I wouldn't expect it to run on anything else any time soon.

The PS3 is insanely powerful, but it is still just a console. Games have to be specifically coded to function on it, as the Cell is odd enough to be considered a freak of technology currently.
