Can't dye gold weapons?

I was trying to see the dye display on one of my golds weapons and it didn't allow me to put the dye on. It gave the red circle with the line through it :S. Don't know if its a glitch or not, happen to anyone else?

Most golds allow dye however some skins don't like elemental swords and various others its not a bug just design.

Depends on the skin. Not all weapons can be dyed.

What they said, some skins are undyeable.
You can search for the skin on wiki and it should say whether it's dyeable or not.

Don't know if this might be the case here, but you also can't dye a weapon that is equipped on a hero - you have to take it off them and either put it in inventory or equip it yourself.

It was a greater sage blade, since you can dye lesser sage blades I thought u could also dye greater ones, guess not though :S. Thanks for all the help though.
